Our 12 night stay over the December holidays at La Favorita was luxurious! The attentive service, the spotless and comfortable room, the beautiful design of the hotel & the perfect central location made for an unforgettable experience in Sorrento!! We were fortunate to get a nice deal on an extended stay in a junior suite. The room features: a balcony, a huge jacuzzi tub, lots of space with 16 foot decorated ceilings, a super-comfortable king bed, & turndown service. Breakfast was wonderful & included in the price.
Not that this hotel needs anything else, but personally I would request: 1) a better in-room wifi connection (the lobby was the only viable way to get on line), & 2) perhaps a fitness room (but there's a great gym a few blocks away available for 10 euro per visit... & lots of steep inclines to hike around town).
I had read an important piece of advice on one TripAdvisor review regarding those who choose to stay here in the cooler months: The AC is shut off for the winter! If you're like us & like to sleep in a cool room, you'll need to keep your balcony door open. The street below is noisy until the wee hours so use earplugs or a white noise iPad app to drown it out... & be ready for loud, loud fireworks... A tradition over the holidays.
Also, it couldn't hurt to re-reconfirm your airport transfer requests &booking site info before you leave home ...just a phone call to the front desk should do, as there's some room for communication errors...but the same can be said for any accommodation. These are very minor issues. We would definitely stay here again an HIGHLY recommend it to all!!

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel La Favorita in Sorrento on August 20, 21, 22, 2012 for three nights. It was our fourth city in Italy (after Milan, Florence, and Rome) of a two week vacation there. This was on of our favorite hotels.
The hotel has a lot of charm and is in a great location. They are one block from the sea, beach, and the main drag in Sorrento.
The front desk staff in this hotel is great. They are all very friendly, speak good English, and go the extra distance for you. The lobby is very relaxing and inviting. The grounds are beautiful and are decked out with patios and lemon trees
Our room was great. It was very efficient, spacious, and had the most English speaking TV channels in all of Italy if you’re into that.
The morning buffet breakfast included in our room price was one of the best we had in Italy. It was a full buffet with scrambled eggs (which were delicious), ham, bacon, sausage, cheeses, fruits, breads, deserts, pastries, etc. Anything you could think of was there.
The rest of the hard working hotel staff was all friendly to English speaking people and spoke very good English.
The bar on the roof of the hotel is very nice and a good place to relax. The view of the sea is incredible.
This is one of the few hotels in Italy that offers you a clothes iron. It’s not in your room but if you go to the front desk they’ll give you an iron and take you to a private room with an ironing board that you can use.
One thing you should know. During the last few weeks of August a lot of Italians close up shop and go on vacation. A LOT of them come HERE. So it's crowded. However the merchants, and hotels handle the crowds very well so it's still a fun time. It's also extemely hot here. It gets to 95 or so mid day, but if you stay in the shade and by the sea breeze it's fine.
All in all we loved this hotel and Sorrento.

Upon arrival we were greeted by well presented person with excellent English.Our rooms were very clean and spacious.The hotel is well located ,close to everything (including a laudromat!)
When we arrived it was late and we asked for recommended restuarant.It was owned by the same person who owned the hotel.The meal was fantastic and the waiter(Nicholi?) was wonderful to my young daughter,spoiling her with extra attention and extra free little snacks.We had heard about a traditional drink called lemoncello and asked this friendly waiter about it.Five minutes later he presented us with a complimentary sample.Of course,we went back a second time to the restuarant and again had brilliant service/food.
I am struggling to find fault with this hotel.The foyer is beautiful,Chiro and the other staff friendly and attentive.Perhaps the only thing would be that although the breakfast was plentiful it would be better to include fried eggs in the breakfast package.
Overall,Excellent hotel!

We went to Sorrento in Nov-Dec 2012 for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff could converse in English and were very helpful in guiding us around Sorrento. The hotel is centrally located and is walking distance from the Marina, the town centre and the station.
The rooms were big, clean and very comfortable. Our room had an amazing view of the the sea.
The restaurant had a huge breakfast spread every morning. Excellent food!
