“Perfect stay. Outstanding value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2011

We had stayed here before some time ago in an different room which was just "OK" but this trip we got an apartment that was fabulous. Everything worked perfectly. It was very large. The kitchen was spacious (compared to the kitchenette of the previous stay.) It was quiet (i.e. located off the street, and the street didn't have soccer games playing.) We were off season and booked 4 people for 75 Euros a night, which is just a great deal. The staff was very friendly but there was no reason to see them except to check in and out. It's an apartment not a hotel, so bring your own soap and shampoo.

We got a good discount off the usual rate of this little "apartment" (i.e. hotel room w/ kitchenette) by making non-refundable full payment well in advance. The room itself was clean and more than adequate and the kitchenette was cute. It seemed to have been recently remodeled in that it lacked the charm one would hope for in Sorrento, and was just weird. There was no soap or shampoo, but maybe that's the deal with "apartments." There was a general disconnect because the place was clean, large, nicely laid out, and looked good but it was a little Twilight Zone to have the kitchen faucet be basically not attached to the sink; it literally flopped around. The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet and slid off sideways. Some of the lights didn't work. Hot water pressure was either low or the faucet was clogged, but it ran so slowly that the water cooled down before I could run a hot bath (in an otherwise nice tub.) We took turns hitting our heads on the lights by the beds which were just badly placed. There was exposed wiring in a couple of places which makes you wonder. It was like someone who didn't know that things actually were supposed to WORK had been sent in with the job of making it look nice.

There was a big, fabulous balcony with a cool clothes drying rack which we put to good use. But you couldn't actually use the balcony because of the blaring ( and I mean BLARING) volume of the soccer games being played on an out-door big-screen at a bar next door. There were nice black-out screens for the window but they didn't begin to deal w/ the window-rattling soccer game volume level, so there was no chance of getting to sleep until the games were over, which was sometimes 10:00 or 11:00 pm. (We were there several nights.)

The staff was friendly enough at check-in. I didn't bother to ask them to come in to remodel the apartment during our stay due to the long list. Other than not being able to sleep due to the soccer games being broadcast practically in the room, and the oddities of the "maintenance" it could have OK. It's well located just a block or two off the main shopping street, so I expected it to be quiet (and it probably would have been but for the games.)

I've been to Sorrento before and would pick something else next time.

My friend and I stayed in one of the apartments for the month of July while we attended a language immersion school. Our apartment was very clean and it had a full bathroom, two twin beds, a small kitchen with stove top, small fridge and basic cooking utensils and dishes. We also had a wonderful terrace that had a cafe size table and two chairs, along with a clothes rack to dry your clothing.
The location was fantastic and it was very easy to walk to stores, markets and the train station. We did not have a car and this was not a problem at all! The street is pedestrian only, so there is no traffic noise, however, many of the shops and restaurants are open very late, so it is not quiet in the evenings.
The family that owns the building were extremely friendly and accommodating of our needs. I would highly recommend Sorrento Apartments!

These apartments are in a great location right in the centre of historic Sorrento, which make them an ideal base for sightseeing. We were attending a friends wedding, and the locations were within a couple of minutes walk - this is a great benefit as the taxis in Sorrento are very expensive. Our apartment looked newly finished, with modern fixtures. It was small though, and could be a bit noisy at night. If you want to relax in your room with a glass of wine and a view, this is not the place for you! It was excellent value for us, and made a great base for sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed at Sorrento Apartments for four nights. During that time we were made to feel most welcome. Our host did everything he could to help us when we needed it. Our apartment was on the third floor of an elevator-equipped building and had its own balcony. Entry was through a private gate and allowed us to come and go as we pleased. Some apartments in the building are occupied by 'non-tourists.' The building itself is immaculate. Our only difficulty was in locating it initally, since we arrived after dark and in the rain. However, the cab driver soon had us inside, since the front of the building is a family-owned shop. We had a bedroom, bath with tub/shower, and sitting room/kitchen. Heating/AC is independently controlled. It turned cool during our trip, so the heat was most welcome. The location is great, just down the hill from the bell tower of the Cathedral and around the corner from the biggest tourist shopping street in town. A short stroll down the street leads to a park with overviews of the harbor and Naples across the bay.
