“Cheap ....but very cheerful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Asked our hotel for a recommendation as to where we could have a good pizza and they sent us here. A good recommendation.

Situated towards the end of the main high street, it looks on first impressions a bit rough and ready. But don't let the bench seating, the paper plates or plastic cutlery put you off - it has a good, warm atmosphere and was full of locals when we visited. The pizza was good and very reasonably priced.

Don't expect fine dining here but if you want a place frequented by the locals where you can eat a good pizza cheaply in casual surroundings, this is the place for you.

“informal and excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

When we arrived at Sorrento our hotel manager recommended Francos for lunch. She said it was a local favorite. It's located just down from the bus/train station. Very informal, the service is excellent and the pizza was great. We ended up eating here twice so tells you we liked it. Highly recommended.

“Pizza and beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Stumbled upon this on the way to our hotel from the railway station. Benches and big tables which you may find yourself sharing. Great pizza and and good value Perroni. We ate here three times during our week in Sorrrento, the place is just buzzing with locals.

“This is it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

If you are looking for pizza in Sorrento, this is the real deal. Came here 3-4 times in a week. The crust is divine--taste and texture. The menu is extensive, and includes other variations on the theme (calzone, focaccia, piadine, panini) and lots of interesting antipasti. Everything we tried was great. Quality of ingredients is high. For something different try the cacio e pepe pizza--it's a bianca done with the special cheese in homage to the Roman pasta dish cacio e pepe. Depending on when you come, the place might be empty or you might have to wait half an hour and then share a table with strangers. Always worth it. The casual ambiance, including the plastic cups and cutlery, adds considerably to their credibility. It's all about the food.

If I'm not mistaken, they have another branch in Vico Equense. We saw it but never went in there so not sure if it stacks up.

“Best pizza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Our son was in Sorrento on his honeymoon (or as he called it, his pizza tour of Italy) and came upon Franco's. He suggested it to us when we recently spent a week in Sorrento and we ended up eating there twice! It was really delicious with a very thin, crispy crust. The anitpasti tray with cheese, parma ham and some kind of salty, juicy cubes of ham was delicious. Loved the local house wine in carafes too, both the red and white. The restaurant was very casual with picnic tables and the prices reflected that. The staff was fun and friendly. The restaurant was full of Italians with their families and was one block off of the beaten track.
