“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

It is in the "old town" in the narrow streets.
Once you find it - its good.
Decor is slightly old, a bit cluttered.
Warm and welcoming though.
Had a veg soup (minestrone) - excellent, hearty fresh and home made.
Grilled sausage - dressed with lemon, simple but super.
I asked if they have the wood burning pizza oven, they said no so I avoided ordering pizza (only order it from the fantastic wood burning ovens)
Excellent english spoken, prices very good indeed.
I went back again!

“Very welcoming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

It's not what you would call a typical tavern, but seems like you are invited for dinner at someone's house. We were wandering the streets of Sorrento, and looking at the menu when the door opened and we were unobtrusively invited in. The food was excellent, the music Italian, and the service was like family. You can try out your italian with the waiters, or order in english as they are comfortable with either. With a €25 bottle of Prosecco, a meal for two with dolci and coffee was €63.

“Great find in back alleyway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We stumbled on this great Resteraunt that is just around the corner from our hotel Regina , the service was great, very attentive and suggesting things to try etc, but at the same time not at all pushy.
The chicken Milanese ( cutlet or snitzel ) was so tender and freshly prepared I could here the chef whipping the egg to crumb it. Lasagne and salad fresh and good quality. The limoncello was the best ever tasted, we asked where to buy it , and you could get it from around the corner at Lemonora.
Only disappointment is that we are only here one night so we have only had one meal at the taverna, but would return again someday.

“OK, but just average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Perhaps a review shouldn't be submitted based simply on pizza for lunch, but here are a few observations. First, the prices (at least for pizza) seem to be somewhat lower than others in Sorrento - that's a plus. The service was very attentive and there seemed to be good attention to detail - nice tablecloths, good table settings, etc. Atmosphere wasn't anything special - at least not at lunchtime.

We ordered pizza w. ruccola, mozzarella & cherry tomatoes. It was tasty, but crust was a bit tough (although pizza crust, being what it is, can be inconsistent). The menu was typical, nothing particularly imaginative.

I would recommend this restaurant for value, but not as anything particularly special.

“Basic - almost pub grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We grabbed a quick lunch here when strolling around the back streets. My pizza diavolo was ordinary (dare I suggest it wasn't a home-made base?) and my wife's breaded veal was a disappointment compared to others she'd enjoyed during this holiday.
