“A brilliant place to stay in Sorrento”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Our friends booked this hostel on the off chance, and it exceeded all expectations. Spacious accomodation, central to the old town and the Marina Grande and 15mins to the bus and train station. We didn't use the swimming pool or spa, but we checked it out, and it was excellent.
The staff were all professional and informative, and totally delightful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and we tested them with a few problems that we had !
It was always clean and quiet, and very well appointed. Excellent showers etc.
We shalll be happy toreturn there, and will encourage our friends to go and enjoy it all too.

Room Tip: The view from the old town side are possibly better

This was more of a hotel than a hostel, the staff were really professional and informative, the lobby was clean as were the rooms. The value for the price is amazing, I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back when I'm in the Sorrento area.

Chosen by chance from the internet, the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel exceeded all expectations. Situated in a quiet street, it is a mere 5 minute walk from the lively old town with all its restaurants and shops, 10 minutes from the lovely old fishing harbour and 15 minutes from the train/bus station. Without exception, the staff at the Ulisse could not have been more friendly, cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Whatever tiny problem we encountered (broken suitcase lock, finding a British TV channel, unlocking the safe) was solved in moments. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Sorrento.

Like everyone says, this place does not seem like a hostel. Having traveled by train after dark from Naples (due to a delayed flight) which was scary in itself we were very relieved to arrive at the Ulisse to discover our fantastic 'hostel'. While it may not look like much from the outside and does not contain the amazing views that other hotels in town can offer, it provides everything the traveler on a budget needs. The rooms are very spacious and are air conditioned. There was a mini fridge for us to cool our drinks and a decent sized bathroom. The foyer lounge area is very impressive and a great place to relax with a drink after a long day in the sun.
We elected to make use of their breakfast service with options including cereal, fruits, cakes, coffee, juice, eggs and much more. It was well worth it as options in town are scarce early in the morning. The town center is only a 10 minute walk away and you are even closer to the interesting back alleys with many shops and restaurants.
The only downside for us was our room was located where we had a lot of noise from local traffic and people talking loudly late into the night but really this was such a small issue for what was otherwise such a fantastic place.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was great. It's definitely not your standard hostel, it is as the name states... Deluxe. There is free WiFi which is always a bonus and the service at reception and through out the hostel was as though you are staying in a 5 star resort. The room is quite large and very clean.
The location from the train station is straight down the main strip of Sorrento for about 1km, then the hospital will be on your right side, go pass that, then go down the stairs. It's about another 100metres down the road on your left hand side.
Great breakfast, and lobby communial area to sit and relax.

Having booked on-line direct with the hostel I was a little worried what we would find, I shouldn't have! The staff are excellent, can't do enough to help and lots of "little considerations" that make all the difference. Great location for town, beach, restaurants etc. The only down side is that there is no outside area and no leisure pool (access to sports pool but this is laned and full of serious swimmers!). All in all very good value for money and would certainly go back again.

I did not expect this hostel to be that big and well appointed. The location wasn't too bad either. It took 20 minutes to walk from the train station. The service was excellent. The only bad thing was it's sound proofing from the outside. It was quite noisy. But then we were always so tired when we hit the sack. It did not matter much. Sorrento is an excellent town to visit. It is quiet and pleasant with one main street where all the shops are located. The food is pretty good comparing to Rome and other Italian cities. It is the best jump off point to visit Capri, Positano, Amalfi Town and Pompeii. Naples was not worth the visit. I will definitely return to this hostel.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room next to the street.
