“good location but noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

Stayed on a Saturday and found the noise from the promenade to be annoying. They like to party in Salerno, the streets cleared after 2AM. We both are heavy sleepers but the honking from the nearby cross street and the screams from drunken revelers would wake us occasionally. With that said the hotel staff was grand and the room was large for Europe.

The hotel is in a good location on the main shopping strip located in the newer part of Salerno's centre. It's easily accessible by foot from the train station however as others have stated previously there is no signage anywhere stating the name of the hotel which was frustrating when you're lugging your bags around by foot and can't find the place. (It would be great if management read these posts and acted to rectify the signage issue.) Reception area has been renovated however rooms are old but comfortable. Staff are great, all very friendly and helpful. Good value for the location.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the corso can get noisy due to foot traffic.

Very hard to find although it is on the Corso due to the fact the hotel has no name anywhere on the doors nor any sign. We had to ask several times for its location and kept walking past it.
But it is only a ten minute casual easy walk from the train station..
The hotel appears to be under refurbishment. The foyer is very nice, and the breakfast area on the top floor is lovely, continental breakfast only. Our room was clean, the linen on the bed was crisp white, and the bed was very comfortable. No safe in room, bathroom was adequate and clean, air conditioner did not work the first day, then suddenly came on the second day but so mechanically noisy that in had to shut it off. At the moment I would rate it 2.5 stars, but we would stay there again. I do think their rates are too high for what it is.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the Corso with a lovely large balcony on the 4th floor

Great location in Corso Vittorio Emanuele near Piazza Sedile di Portonova square promande. 10 min. walk to train station, clean, modern bath, shower, good bfst on level 5 with terrace overlook, fair price. Cash (euro's) is king in Italy, Cashing Travelers checks difficult, use ATM's, notify your credit, bank card issuer where going before leaving or they may lock out the card. Close to ferry terminal for Positano, Amalfi, Capri, train to Pompeii 45 min.

We arrived late on a sauna-hot night with insects dropping from the lights of the street - desperate, hot and exhausted after a gruelling trip. The first thing to hit us was the cool air conditioning and the very attractive entrance to the hotel. Upstairs things were comfortable but not overdone - but we had all the essentials - comfortable beds, fridge bar (for a desperately-needed cold drink) strong shower to refresh ourselves and a good supply of lovely towels - unbelievably welcome when you have experienced a hot, sticky and rather filthy journey. The location was already familiar to us - the shopping in the area is pretty good as this is the main pedestrian shopping street. The area is full of great bars serving - mostly - generous drinks and nibbles - and a lot of pretty good restaurants. We found one - had a super dinner and returned for a good night's sleep. In the morning breakfast was served on the roof terrace - a real pleasure with a lovely view and for 2 adults and a child the price was amazing.

Room Tip: Might be fun to overlook the Corso Emanuele (the street it's in) but it might also be less noisy...

Very comfortable hotel in the heart of Salerno's pedestrian shopping area. Not far from the railwaystation, not far from the beaches. My room was large with airconditioning. Very comfortable especially after a traintrip from Florence. Room has got everything what you need. Breakfast is served on the 5th floor and you can also have breakfast on the rooftop.Staff in hotel is friendly and speaks english too. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.

The price is reasonable, and you are very close to the train station, old town Salerno and the ferry terminal. The hotel lobby is very modern and attractive, while the rooms are much more basic (older). As long as you are not expecting a luxury property, you should be good to go.
