Here's an example of the kind of service we experienced. We had rented a car for one day. Parking nearby was 30 Euro a night but Daniele knew of a much cheaper place 1 km away. He drove us to our car and then he personally drove our car through town to the cheaper place. In the morning he arranged for the garage to bring us our car. They even came with us to show us where to gas up because it wasn't easy to find. That's mind blowing service!
They also greet you when you arrive with some local antipasti and wine. Breakfast was a mix of lovely homemade items plus some packaged items. Everything we could want.
We had the room with 2 single beds put together for a double. We had plenty of space. My only complaints were that the shower was so tiny (and I'm well aware of how small Italian showers typically are) and the noise coming in from the courtyard.
Loved the location. It couldn't be more perfect for walking in the town centre or along the seaside promenade. Felt very safe. Lots of nearby restaurants. We also could walk to the train/bus/ferries although not with our luggage. It was at least a 15 min. walk.
We loved Salerno. So much life at night. So many non touristy great restaurants. The seaside promenade means, unlike most Amalfi coast places, you can have a long pretty walk without stairs. Plus the train goes straight here in 1/2 hour from the airport.
