“Great place to spend some time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

My husband and I spent a week here in early April 2014. We enjoyed our stay. The room was extremely clean and spacious. The breakfast had many options and someone to greet us with a great cup of coffee. Every morning the owner or one of the staff of the Hotel came and had a conversation with us just to see how our stay was going or if we needed any help on our travels that day. We highly recommend this Hotel if you like small boutique Hotels.

We have stayed in this hotel in 2012 and 2013, plus we are booked to return this July 2014. We have traveled to many different hotels on this great planet, but very few have treated us like family as the way they do. The staff cares for all your needs and wants. We could not ask for anything better while in Italy. From before you leave answering endless emails of questions you may have, to helping mold a perfect vacation while you are there. You feel at home every morning coming down to a wonderful spread of breakfast delights and any questions for your day are answered with enthusiasm. We tell everyone thinking of visiting Italy to plan a stop at this beautiful hotel. We get our same junior suite every time and look forward to seeing the friends we have made visiting this beautiful place.

Room Tip: get a junior suite with the two levels. Great if you bring a child because it's like they have...

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Amalfi, and the decision to stay at the Floridiana was a great choice.

If you travel a lot, either on business or pleasure, you will know that it is the quality of the service that differentiates a hotel. Agnese, Eva and the rest of the team gave a warm, genuine welcome, and their attention to detail meant we could properly relax from the moment we arrived.

We stayed in a junior suite, and the bubbling jacuzzi with scented bath salts in our room was most appreciated by our weary legs after walking to places like Ravello, Atrani, and Pontone. The room is newly refurbished with a beautiful, spacious walk in shower, very comfortable bed, reasonably priced minibar. The location next to the cathedral meant there were good local restaurants (we particularly enjoyed L'Abside) and it's central location meant it was easy to catch a bus or as a starting point for either leisurely or more strenuous scenic walks.

We appreciated the nearby car parking, the breakfast was great, and listening to the cathedral chime was charming. Even small things like good quality hangers in the closet, abundant toiletries, lovely soft furnishings, and high quality towels go a long way to making this a hotel a gem.

And don't let the 3* rating put you off - the junior suite was delightful, exceptional value for money, and a real pleasure.

Room Tip: The junior suites are lovely

We experienced a beautiful room with a great view and bathroom and a wonderful helpful staff. The marble floors of the lobby and the blue tile in the room is the color of the sea. The food was excellent.

In September wife and I visited amalfi for three days. I arrived on a Saturday evening very ill. The staff was wonderful. They took care of us as guests as well as friends. Their concern was genuine. The room was perfect. the food was excellent with many choices for breakfast. ( it looked more like a brunch spread ). Check out the beautiful ceiling in the breakfast room. We will recommend this jewel to anyone and everyone that's going to Amalfi. Grazie ,Grazie, GRAZIE!

We spent three enjoyable nights at the Floridiana Hotel in the end of July 2013. Clean, comfortable, and helpful staff.

We drove up from Sicily and found the parking garage for the hotel and walked a few blocks back into town. Our bags arrived shortly after and were taken to our room.

The best decision we made was to leave the car in the garage. We took a boat all the way up the coast to Sorrento where we roamed for a while, then took the local bus back to Amalfi. The bus took longer than the boat ride and if you get car sick, bring along a large garbage bag! Narrow, windy, crazy road!

But the reason for this review is the advantage of staying at more intimate places. On our way to Naples, our departure city, we found a ceramic shop near Salerno some 25 km (44 minutes) from the hotel where we ordered tiles that were to be made of our home after we provided them with pictures. It was to be 6, 8 inch tiles making one picture of our home that we would frame and put on our back deck wall. Cash up front, which was significant.

We emailed the pictures to the ceramic shop two weeks later and asked for acknowledgement that the pictures were received. We didn't get any response from many emails and became concerned.

I emailed the Floridiana and explained our situation and to ask if they knew of the place. The next day I got an email from Agnese saying she would give them a call. Three days later she reported that her husband stopped by the shop and they told him they were closed for August and would be working on the tiles.

Try getting that kind of service from a 'big box' hotel.

I am happily shocked to report that the tiles arrived a few days ago and are as ordered.

Thanks Agnese for those extra kilometers of service!!

This hotel is just and few steps from the duomo and town center and a short walk from the ferry but it is located behind the main street so it is very quiet. The rooms are large - especially the junior suites, and the beds are comfortable. The staff -especially Agnese, are very friendly and offer great advice. The breakfast buffet is amazing - everything from meats and cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, eggs, and a warm quiche. The breakfast alone was worth the cost.

Room Tip: Ask for a junior suite if they have one
