“A Delightful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2011

Our night at the Floridiana was a highlight of our recent tour of Italy and a wonderful home base in Amalfi. The location, the service, the ambiance, the cleanliness, the large airy room and a balcony suspended above the bustling pedestrian mall all contributed to a delightful stay in this charming town. Our short visit couldn't have been nearly as satisfying in any other sort of hotel.

my husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel on the 4th of October while visiting amalfi. we were welcomed by a very polite lady who checked us in. We went to park the car in their car park and then walked our way back to the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had a cute balcony overlooking the main shopping road of amalfi. Great location, nice room , super friendly staff, I would definitely go back!

The Floridiana is certainly #1 hotel in Amalfi. The email 2 days before showed us exactly how to arrive at the hotel. We loved every minute in Amalfi. The Breakfast room with a ceiling like a cathedral, popping into the little laneways and finding pizzarias and ristorante. Agnes and staff are the most courteous hosts you could encounter. Well done Hotel Floridiana, it was sad leaving Amalfi today....

Stayed here in Septmeber 2011 based on TA reveiws and wasnt dissapointed. The luggage transport was very easy from waterfront. Driving in the golf/luggage cart up the main road thru the small city center was delightful. Upon arrival we were offered a complimentary beverage and taken to our rooms. Rooms were nice size compared to European standards and the bathroom was great. The staff were helpful and very friendly. If you dont mind not having a veiw and like the added value of being able to walk to things as aoppose to a bus, then this is the place for you. I would go back again.

It’s the little things that count, an email a few days before arrival, clean well decorated rooms, friendly staff, parking facilities. These are just some of the points that help the Floridiana get its entirely deserved number 1 spot on Tripadvisor rankings for hotels in Amalfi, and we can only totally endorse the many favourable comments made by earlier reviewers.
The rooms and the rest of the premises are very attractively furnished to high standards, with great attention to detail, and everything is spotlessly clean; in a word: perfect!

The hotel is tucked away up a narrow side alley in the heart of Amalfi, behind the Duomo and a few metres from the cathedral’s steps, so the noise is not a problem. Don’t let the entrance put you off. You will need to climb some steps to get to the Hotel’s entrance, but if you carry heavy luggage the hotel will provide a free porter service to transport your luggage.
The hotel’s joint hosts, Agnese and Eva, were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The Floridina is highly recommended, Roof top terrace was great, Jacuzzi tub and a spectacular view. We were the only ones up there, a little bit of heaven just for us.
The hotel is right in the middle of Amalfi and only a 2 minute walk from the bus station/quay.
What a beautiful hotel and excellent location

The Floridiana entirely deserves its current no. 1 spot in Tripadvisor rankings for hotels in Amalfi, and we can only wholeheartedly endorse the many favourable comments made by previous reviewers. Originally part of a residence built in the 12th century and reconstructed/converted into a hotel in 2004 (originally just six rooms, but now with a further six rooms added on the first floor), everything shows signs of loving care and superior craftsmanship, while lovely picture tiles adorn the walls throughout the building. We stayed in a superior double room on the first floor, accessible by elevator. The rooms and the rest of the premises are very attractively furnished to the highest standards, with great attention to detail, and everything is spotlessly clean; in a word: immaculate!

The hotel is tucked away up a narrow side alley in the heart of Amalfi, behind the Duomo and a few metres from the cathedral’s steps. You will need to climb some steps to get to the Hotel’s entrance, but if you carry heavy luggage the hotel will provide a free porterage service to transport your luggage from the bus/ferry terminal to the hotel, and v.v. Breakfast, which is excellent and plentiful, is served in a splendid room under magnificent ancient frescos. The hotel’s joint hosts, Agnese and Eva, were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Perfect then? Well, almost, except that we have a one wee gripe: here we have a hotel that just about provides anything a guest may want or need in terms of ambience and amenities: from beautifully designed rooms and classy décor, air-conditioning, safe, Sat TV, direct telephone, mosquito screens on the windows, through to a state-of-the art shower, plenty of towels, hair dryer, bathroom slippers, coffee and tea making facilities and coffee mugs, as well as a mini-bar …. except there are no glasses! So if you want a drink from the minibar you will have to use plastic cups provided, which is a definite turnoff for this reviewer at least. While glasses were provided quickly when we asked for them, this seems a strange anomaly. It appears to be a practice that we have come across in some other Italian hotels. The reason for it, we were given to understand in this particular instance, is a matter of hygiene, that guests don’t like drinking from glasses that may not have been adequately cleaned after the previous guests have moved out. But, if so, this still doesn’t make sense, as it could equally apply to the ceramic coffee/tea mugs, and which looked very clean to us! Besides, providing disposable plastic cups, protected by yet more plastic wrapping, is hardly environmentally friendly. So please Agnese and Eva, provide your guests with glasses in the rooms in future. With the high level of cleanliness evident throughout the hotel, I am sure only the most paranoid of guests would object to drinking from glasses rather than these sad plastic cups.

This minor grumble apart, the Floridina is highly recommended, and its rates, especially when compared with those charged by similar 3-star hotels on the Amalfi coast, are entirely reasonable.

We felt like we found a little treasure with this hotel. Wonderful spot in Amalfi, close to everything. We liked the church bells found them soothing and comforting. Everyone was wonderful and treated us wonderful. Il Mulino is a restaurant we found up the hill a bit away from the main area, wish we found it the first night rather then the last, we walded out of there the food was so good and the staff and owners so warm and friendly.
Floridia rooms were perfect, junior suite is cute and very clean. Did not want to leave!!
Roof top terrace was great, jazzcuzzi tub and a spectacular view. We were the only ones up there, a little bit of paradise just for us.
