“Stylish good value hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Excellent stay in stylish hotel with friendly staff and a lovely spacious room. Brilliant location near the Duomo but very quiet. i really enjoyed staying here. Only a small hotel so there may not be much choice of rooms.

It's a good hotel. The room is nice, pretty big, very clean, has good A/C, minibar and comfy bed. Small balcon also (no interesting view...). And it's inside Amalfi, so you have plenty of restaurants and shops around. Breakfast is fine too - cold cuts, corn-flakes, croissants, coffee etc.
Staff is extremely kind, but lacks in English knowledge, and we found it a bit difficult to discuss some of them about transportation options to Salerno.
Now, it depends what are the expectations from your holiday: if you wish to do some hiking, travel around the coast, inland and up to the hills - it's a very good choice for a hotel to use as your base (and it's much less pricey than others) . However, if you're in Amalfi for the beach, and plan to have a hotel with some leisure facilities that you'll use - don't even consider this one, as it has no such facilities, and it doesn't even have a sea view..

As the title suggests, we never got to stay here but that was not for lack of trying!

We booked our double room on the 21st June through Hostel Bookers and paid our 10% deposit online and subsequently received the confirmation email... Job done!

Sadly no...on the 27th August we received an email saying that the double room we had booked 2 months ago was not available and that they did have a triple room available at nearly twice the price and would like to know whether we would like that instead. I said we would like to take the room but we would not pay twice the price for a triple room when there were only 2 of us anyway. I also asked why it had taken 2 months to tell us that the room was not available.

Various emails exchanged over 2 weeks with the last one being received on the 15th September restating they do not have a double room available. I checked all major booking websites on the 16th and there was both a double room and a triple room available on all sites. I sent them a screen shot but have yet to have a response.

We only ever asked for them to honour the original price and not charge us for a bed we would never use and a breakfast we would not eat, seemingly not a sensible request.

I can only assume that occupancy was looking good and they were attempting to up the premium for all the advance bookers knowing that they might be able to secure a better last minute booking should we not want to pay more.

We were due to stay there in 10 days - having had to phone around all of the Amlfi hotels to find a last minute room. I can say that every other hotelier in the area has been charming, helpful and has tried their best to find us a room, the only exception seems to be Hotel Antica Republica.

We have taken our money elsewhere - I suggest you do too.

More than happy to forward on the emails to anyone should they want a read!

Good location in the Amalfi, 5 minutes to the ferries and buses. Good deli opposite the hotel for supplies as well as many restaurants. While the rooms were comfortable and an adequate size they are showing their age and the facilities and decor have a tired appearance. Our rear facing room was particularly gloomy. Breakfasts were very good, better on the terrace as it was quite squeezy when served on the ground floor. Staff were generally very helpful and friendly. Watch out if the town power goes out as it apparently does regularly late at night, as an emergency light burns like a beacon in your room and you can't turn it off. Noise from the main street in the early morning, possibly from cleaning activities, was particularly disruptive.

We had booked 2 rooms in another hotel, but we were redirected to this structure afterwards. After a first e-mails exchange followed by hours of silence from the hotel when it was about the booking confirmation email, we discover to have been redirected to this hotel because of a 'technical issue' in one of the rooms of the hotel where we had booked. As a relatively experienced traveler, my idea was that their intentions were to maximise the rooms availability, which led the managers to accept our request for two rooms and then send us to this hotel, which has been an annoying feeling. But maybe I am wrong. Besides, there are 15 extra €s. to pey per car per day for the garage, as the hotel is in the old town area. The good thing is the position, as the hotel is in the very centre of the town, and the cleansiness and the overall of the room, very cosy. For breakfast we were offered coffee or cappuccino, croissant, a pie, chocolate, bread and orange juice. There was also savory food, for whom who like. Nice after all, but, should I come back there, I'd try different accomodations for the same price

This little family run hotel is ideal for a short stay. Try not to get the room next to reception as it does not have any views and it is noisy. I was there for a wedding for one night so it was not a problem. Unfortunately due to rain we had breakfast in doors which is not the same. However the owner ( the Lady) is very helpful if you need transport to the airport. Very clean and not expensive. The room has got aircon, hair dryer in the bathroom, shower, safe in the room large bed very comfortable clean linen ( cotton) this is not for busines traveller but for leisure ideal.

I'm a business traveller and i'm all the time in hotels. I booked several months ago this hotel (febuary) and when we arrived, the room wasn't in the complex, no air conditioning and no air dryer... We complain about it and we don't understand why they gave us this kind of room....the bathroom was so silly...you can see the mold on the shower door and it had never been cleaned for onths for sure...

If you reserved at this hotel, be sure to ask to stay in the complex....

Breakfast wasn't in ours aera and all the time we had to goin the main complex to eat the breakfast...

Btw no wifi if you stay in the complex like we stayed...

So if you understand correctly, we never had value for our money !

The only thing that they offered us is to split a 60 euros inhalf to get a better hotel for one night....

So plz do yourself a favor DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!
