“Good location but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Good location in the Amalfi, 5 minutes to the ferries and buses. Good deli opposite the hotel for supplies as well as many restaurants. While the rooms were comfortable and an adequate size they are showing their age and the facilities and decor have a tired appearance. Our rear facing room was particularly gloomy. Breakfasts were very good, better on the terrace as it was quite squeezy when served on the ground floor. Staff were generally very helpful and friendly. Watch out if the town power goes out as it apparently does regularly late at night, as an emergency light burns like a beacon in your room and you can't turn it off. Noise from the main street in the early morning, possibly from cleaning activities, was particularly disruptive.

We had booked 2 rooms in another hotel, but we were redirected to this structure afterwards. After a first e-mails exchange followed by hours of silence from the hotel when it was about the booking confirmation email, we discover to have been redirected to this hotel because of a 'technical issue' in one of the rooms of the hotel where we had booked. As a relatively experienced traveler, my idea was that their intentions were to maximise the rooms availability, which led the managers to accept our request for two rooms and then send us to this hotel, which has been an annoying feeling. But maybe I am wrong. Besides, there are 15 extra €s. to pey per car per day for the garage, as the hotel is in the old town area. The good thing is the position, as the hotel is in the very centre of the town, and the cleansiness and the overall of the room, very cosy. For breakfast we were offered coffee or cappuccino, croissant, a pie, chocolate, bread and orange juice. There was also savory food, for whom who like. Nice after all, but, should I come back there, I'd try different accomodations for the same price

This little family run hotel is ideal for a short stay. Try not to get the room next to reception as it does not have any views and it is noisy. I was there for a wedding for one night so it was not a problem. Unfortunately due to rain we had breakfast in doors which is not the same. However the owner ( the Lady) is very helpful if you need transport to the airport. Very clean and not expensive. The room has got aircon, hair dryer in the bathroom, shower, safe in the room large bed very comfortable clean linen ( cotton) this is not for busines traveller but for leisure ideal.

I'm a business traveller and i'm all the time in hotels. I booked several months ago this hotel (febuary) and when we arrived, the room wasn't in the complex, no air conditioning and no air dryer... We complain about it and we don't understand why they gave us this kind of room....the bathroom was so silly...you can see the mold on the shower door and it had never been cleaned for onths for sure...

If you reserved at this hotel, be sure to ask to stay in the complex....

Breakfast wasn't in ours aera and all the time we had to goin the main complex to eat the breakfast...

Btw no wifi if you stay in the complex like we stayed...

So if you understand correctly, we never had value for our money !

The only thing that they offered us is to split a 60 euros inhalf to get a better hotel for one night....

So plz do yourself a favor DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!

We've just returned from a trip to Amalfi and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. This hotel is in typical Italian style. We stayed in a junior suite which had a small balcony overlooking the main street leading from the main square. It's very well situated for making the best of your stay in Amalfi - 1 minute walk to the main square. The room had excellent noise insulating doors so when they were closed you couldn't hear anything from outside. The bed was a large four poster bed and was very comfortable. The one negative was the lack of power from the shower - it's more of a trickle!! Breakfast was served on a terrace at the top of the complex and very adequate for our needs. The staff were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers for a short stay especially if you are planning on exploring Amalfi town and the Amalfi coast. It's a base hotel - not a hotel for relaxing in.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite with a balcony

We stayed at this boutique hotel (only 7 rooms) in April.as part of attending a destination wedding. The rooms were spotless and spacious! Service was great. They even arranged for the staff to come in early to prepare breakfast for our group so we could get early starts on the events each day. Speaking of breakfast, which was included with the room, the food (pastries, meats, cheezes, fruit, juices) and the BEST cappuccino, was fabulous and never ending. Maria, the manager during our stay worked tirelessly to ensure that each of the members of our group was extremely pleased with their hotel. I would stay there again without hesitation!!!

Room Tip: Every room was great but there are one or two that have balconies.

February visit. Our quadruple room worked out well for two parents and two older teenagers. One room with a king bed, a second room with two bunk beds, and a bathroom in between. Location was great, but because the B&B is up an alley/stairway off of a limited traffic zoned street, husband parked in a space at the waterfront while the rest of us rolled our luggage to the B&B, about a three or four minute walk away. Though they advertised assistance with parking, they gave us a map and showed us how to get to the public garage. (The garage actually turned out to be convenient and well-guarded for 13 Euros/day.) Breakfast was a couple of choices of pastries, cereal, orange juice and hot drinks made to order. We would have rated this stay more highly if we hadn't been bowled over by the cigarette smell in the lobby and breakfast areas that we needed to walk through every time we went in or out of our room. In addition, the advertised wireless was spotty, or the passwords worked for some but not all of us; the front desk staff tried to help but with little success.

Room Tip: Our room was called "Il Cavaliere." On same floor with lobby and breakfast area which has...
