“Perfection in Amalfi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2009

The hotel is hidden on the 4th floor of an old building in an alley in the town of Amalfi. It is a great location for seeing the town. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and size of the room (we booked a regular double and were upgraded to a suite). The cost (80 euro) was a bonus to a wonderful stay.

The staff are outstanding helpful, the rooms are wonderful and really well fitted out. We had a view of the Duomo campanile and out to sea. Ask for room 7 if you can. The hotel is quirky in some ways, its on the 4th floor of a building with an antique lift and is hidden up a little alleyway off the main street. If you drive there, as we did, you can arrange parking at a garage at the top end of town, not cheap, and you do have to drive through the centre of town trying not to run over pedestrians. As part of the price the hotel organises the transport of your cases to and from the garage - really useful. I can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning.

Another outstanding stay. Staff is incredibly friendly and accomodating. Beautiful tile work adorns the walls and floor. Rooms are impeccably clean and very comfortable. Highly recommended.

We had a great 4 night stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean and Amalfi is a great spot. We would definitely stay here again.

Cannot fault this great little hotel. Stayed for 7 nights. Wonderful staff, clean, comfortable, beautiful room with ensuite. Best of all though were the incredible breakfasts - freshly baked croisants, some filled with chololate! As many excellent cappucinos as you wanted, doughnuts, chocolate liquer cake, fresh fruit, eggs (how you wanted), meats, cheese, bread rolls and so on and so on. What a feast! Right in the middle of Amalfi and the bells DO stop when you want to sleep. Central to every transport to anything you might want to go to on the Amalfi coast - (Pompeii, vesuvious, capri, Ravello, Positano, etc etc. would go back in a flash if we could. Easy to find if you follow the directions. Lift access after about 8 steps. Free access to internet also. Supermarket right below for provisions. Did some great walking in hills behind Amalfi. Great people watching on the beach and surounds. Highly recommended, best we had travelling in Italy for 3 weeks.

The room was so nice with a view down to the busy main street in Amalfi. Beautiful bathroom. Service both in the reception and the breakfast room was top!
Great value for money.

We stayed in this Hotel at the end of September. The hotel is situated right in the main street, but up a little side street so we didn't hear much noise from the Cathedral bells etc.

The staff in the hotel were so friendly and welcoming. We had the junior suite which was bright and spacious and was cleaned every day. We particularly liked that we had free internet access for the whole week of our stay.

The only down side of this hotel was that the carpet in the main corridor leading to bedrooms could definitely do with being replaced and we heard quite a lot of noise from the breakfast room each morning, which had us awake really early, but this was a minor and overall had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel.

  • Liked — Friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — Noise, carpet
