“Valle dei Mulini & Valle delle Ferriere amazing Viewes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We were fed-up with Souvenir shops. We needed some hiking I found on a web site: http://www.coastalwalking.com/Amalfi_Coast/Valle_dei_Mulini.
This is a very good description of the way, 5 hours Hiking around Amalfi
Printed it out and we walked From Amlfi to Pontone, in the Piazza of Pontone we took to the left to Torre del Ziro, the views of Amalfi and Atrani are amazing, we were alone all day no tourists just the 2 of us. lots of woods and waterfalls.
The trip begins at the Museo della Carta, when you reach the museum turn right and then take the stairs up, follow the explanation on the web site and the red and white signs, one of the most fabulous days!!
Warning lots of stairs up & down, worth every second.

“Valle delle Ferriere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

This valley, located behind the town of Amalfi, was once a center of production and trade of iron ore and paper manufacturing. Today, these industries are no longer in use, and nature is doing a good job on reclaiming its land. After a couple of hours of walking through a wooded area, you reach the top of the valley in an amazing and unexpected rain forest rich of fascinating flora. The forests are thick and dark and the waterfalls so refreshing!. I think this is the other side of the Amalfi Coast that few visitors have the pleasure of discovering!

“Great walk - lot of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Well worth doing. A bit of a pull out of town at first but you soon lose the crowds. The valley itself is fascinating with loads of old buildings. Take plenty of water and some food, there is nothing on the trail. Take your towel and swimming stuff - the river near the turn around point is ace!

“Nice walk but longer then the book said!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

From Pontone it starts with an uphill walk om 15 min. The walk gets interesting and quite beautiful when you enter the forrest! It gets hot, so a bath in the river is refreshing on the way. We used about 3 hours from Pontone to Amalfi.

“Utter magic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

An amazing walk through the mountains of the Amalfi coast. You get the impression time has stopped. If you can get in touch with the Forest Guards who'll let you into the reserve where you can see unusual examples of flora and an amazing waterfall.
