“Amazing,Breath-Taking, A Bucket Lister”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

The drive down the coast of Italy along winding narrow highways, on the opposite side of the road, looking down and out at the Mediterranean is an experience that you will remember always. The villages along the way are very inviting, the pace of life once you are off the highway is so relaxing, and the food....

Nice hike up through Amalfi town and into a wooded valley with paper mill ruins. Easy hiking. Wonderful views back to Amalfi. Amalfi has many beautiful hikes

“Great food in friendly local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Out of the main centre, but not by very much so not too much of a slog to get to. I ate here twice and both times the food was excellent and they remembered me the second time, remarking that I could sit at the same table. And extremely good prices

“Appetizer for lunch in Pontone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

If you are staying in the Area get hold of the Sunflower walking book for Amalfi and Sorrento,, an invaluable source for walking this coast
The local council has renamed the walk Valle dei Ferriere. After the first sign up the main street to the mountainsfor the Valle dei Mulini the If you don't want to bother with lunch in Pontone take a picnic and have this after waymarker 13. Here instead of turning right go in the opposite direction and walk under the archway to a large open area above a waterfall. Here it is ideal for a picnic and a refreshing rest for your feet in the stream. This the site of the old iron works.
For the more adventurous further back towards Amalfi is a wonderful waterfall you can bath under.
From here retrace your steps to No13 and continue to Pontone. We generally have lunch at Ristorante S. Giovanni, just follow the signs through the picturesque village piazza. You can also get takeaways, but the best experience is in his restaurant surround by Jasmin and overlooking Ravello.
Very reasonable prices and exceptionally good food
