This hotel is hands down the best hotel we have stayed at in italy so far! It was a perfect location - as soon as you get off the ferry - it's a short walk and has a view of the water. The front door is in amongst shops on the lower level, so when you get off the ferry, go right and look up. The name is obvious on the second/third story. We laughed as clearly this hotel never gets backpackers - as we decided we were "glack packing" (glamour back packing) we carried only small back packs and stayed in lovely hotels like this! When we walked in the front door- they were a bit shocked and were extremely polite and professional. Tip: ask them for help and they will bend over backwards to help you! They are very quiet/formal and so you have to ask the first questions! The guys at the front counter were amazing - they had lots if tips, great restaurant suggestions, advice on tours, trains and ferries to catch, etc.
Our hotel room itself was lovely with high ceilings - not the short claustrophobic kind that you get in Europe - and the view to the water lovely. It's was clean, and they provide turn-down service, which was a lovely treat.
Breakfast. Sigh. Fantastic. Their breakfast room has a beautiful patio that lets tones of light in, and they have all these gorgeous antique mirrors around. However, what really was the best thing was the fantastic service the breakfast team provided. We stated here 4 nights, and after 2 days they started prepping my cappuccino before I even sat down. Fantastico! Check out was a breeze, and since it was so easily located to the centre of the town and ferries, it was all of a 5 min walk to the ferry/bus terminals - if that's what you needed (we did ferry).
So if you have a lot of luggage, this would be an incredibly easy haul. Or in our case, small backpacks! ;)
