stunning hotel with fantastic views across the amalfi coast and town . great swimming school .
although located high up the hotel offers free transport all throughout the day which was very helpful . also the hotel has a private beach for its guests which we enjoyed thoroughly and would have gone again had we stayed more . The breakfast was rather lacking in taste and choice but the rooms were very spacious and all have sea views !!

I would come here again

Room Tip: they all have sea views

A great hotel. Staff so friendly and helpful. Wonderful views. Rooms large with balcony. Food very good. Perhaps a little tired but very good value for what we paid. Just a bit of a problem with shuttle bus which was often full up and we had to stand. We will probably go back.

Great view. Service and food- worst place we have ever stayed. Meals cold, forgot the wine and after 2 hours no dessert. Maitre de prances around saying hello to everyone but delivers no service. A long way from with No shuttle bus in the middle of the day.

I believe this hotel to be only 3* and the cost of the hotel did match 4* This hotel could do with a complete facelift, décor is very tired looking and furniture old and falling apart. Security not very good as doors only wooden slated doors which made the worst sound ever when shutting up at night. Internal glass doors secured with a handle, but unfortunately the cleaning staff do not bother to secure after cleaning the room.

Breakfast not too bad if you arrive quite early, but food very often cold. Evening meal very small portions and you have to pay 2.50 euros for water with your meal or pay for other drinks. You cannot pay cash for anything during your stay, all purchases are added to your bill and given to you at the end of you stay. This can be quite an eye opening total.

The views are spectacular, but in my opinion did not make up for the sleepless nights from noisy air con and loud noises when people were shutting their balcony doors. I would not book with this hotel again. Very disappointed with the hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor which had a good view.

Arrived approx. 9.30pm and shown to room 110, the room without a view, as there's a huge tree in the way! Dirty couch, basic worn-out bed and bed-head, looking to be homemade, sticks of mismatched old furniture, and crazed and occasionally cracked floor tiles We asked for a room change immediately, and given 209. Just the same, although 2 scruffy chairs instead of the couch, but the view was there! The windows offer no security as they are of ancient warped wood, and the locks are a joke.
Mouldy tiles in the basic bathroom, especially where the panel tiles sit on the floor. This was due to the fact that the outlet was leaking, and seeping out from under the bath onto the floor making it very slippery. The mould was also very evident on the wall tiles behind the shower. Mentioned to management, but ignored.
Air conditioning controls are in the rooms, but not working for whatever reason. Mentioned to management, but ignored!
Public area furniture in this hotel is just plain filthy. and sticky with ingrained dirt and grease.
The breakfast is of concern, as all the meats and cheeses, plus all the cakes and bread are on open display, and are a battleground for any passing flies. Our holiday rep had advised them to cover the food before, but nothing had been done. You can only speculate on the kitchens. Coffee, and what passes for orange juice came out of a machine, and was of poor quality. Dinner was slightly better, with attentive staff, and a friendly manager and assistant manager.
Although the view is the outstanding feature of this hotel, a look down from the terraces reveals neglect beneath, and the abandoned old garden terraces are used for dumping old tables, chairs, various bric-a-brac of old timber, and redundant machinery.
All in all, years ago, this was probably a very good hotel, with a wonderful view over Amalfi and the area. Total neglect has allowed it to decline to its current state. If you have a complaint, you get a shrug of the shoulders mostly, and the owner is disinterested. He appeared in front of me for the first (and last) time 10 minutes before we left, and I told him what I thought of his hotel, but the inevitable shrug told me everything.
We made the best of our week in Amalfi, with trips to Capri, Positano, Pompeii and Herculaneum, but coming back to this hotel was always a downer.
I am surprised that this place exists in its present state, and when you do complain the staff are programmed to respond with, 'but look at the view'! The view is wonderful, but as for the hotel...

Room Tip: Annexe rooms 700+ are lower down in the garden, accessed by a lift. These are modern, with new beds...

Perched high on a hill almost directly above Amalfi, you need to willing to get an a bus to go anywhere - although there were a number of people that seemed to say fixed to the balcony next to the pool. I had a pleasant room with a balcony so no complaints there. Dinner was included in the cost and given the hair-raising drive to Amalfi, I did stay in a nights. The food was - to say the least - bland. Although one could be slightly more negative and say oily and tasteless. The staff were pleasant; the private beach is a thrill (going down in 2 lifts to get to the pebbles); so I end up being somewhat ambivalent about the whole experience.

Better late than ever. We traveled to the country of Italy from June 7th to the 17th of this year and it was our best trip ever.
Our trip started from Toronto with a 11.45 pm flight out. We normally stay the night before at an airport hotel because most of our flights are early morning but this time we checked in early and tried out the international lounge at terminal 3. We paid $40.00CND each for 3 hours of all you can eat, drink ( be careful !!!) free newspapers, charging stations, TV's and a great view of the runway with some comfortable chairs.
The trip cost approximately $1300.00 per person and it was with Air Transat. This included the flight to Rome( with options plus) transfers from the airport to the hotel ( 3 hrs south of Rome) 9 nights accommodations and 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner) It was about a 14 hour trip from Toronto to the hotel, but it was all worth it!!
The hotel itself is situated on the cliff side over looking the Mediterranean sea and the view is breath taking! There are a total of 6 levels of rooms in the hotel and all of them have a view of the water. The food is great and the service is out of this world!!! ( restaurant staff were excellent)
I honestly could go on for pages about everything from the people, the local food, the shopping e beach, the tours and so much more but if anyone is thinking of going to his area to simply ask me and I will let you know.
This was truly the best vacation I have ever taken and I will go back to this area and this hotel!!

Room Tip: all rooms have sea view and largest balconies were on the 2nd and 3rd floor. email the hotel with an...
