“great small hotel, in a hidden part of Amalfi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

Stayed in July 2014. Adequate breakfasts, clean rooms, great views. Situated near the central piazza, the Cathedral bells were our alarm clock. Italian hustle and bustle noise was charming. Loved it! The steps up to the hotel could sometimes be daunting, especially as it was very hot during our stay, but the air conditioning in the rooms rectified that. Staff were very friendly. We would stay here again but ask for a sea view next time.

Room Tip: ask for sea view if you want it.

For the price this seafront hotel is a great bet. We stayed in a triple room, which was big enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. But the toilet was so small...really impossible to navigate inside!!! The best part was the view from the balcony....awesome seascape...the noise from the streets below...the honking buses and milling tourists was there of course. But frankly the view was direct into the sea and really good. The breakfast was average, but the owner and his charming family would lay it out for us in their private dining table as we had some friends making the group to 7, instead of the breakfast room.
We were lucky to experience a full musical performance in the common courtyard just outside the hotel. The staff was helpful and concerned about your comfort which was a big plus. Stairs from the common courtyard take you right into the main piazza and church...with lovely restaurants around. The port to take ferries to positano etc. was walking distance from the hotel. A good stay on the whole.

Stayed here recently. Good price, for a nice clean room with a balcony with a view of the Tyrrhennian Sea (true, the piazza where the buses come and go was out there too, but the bus noise stopped at ten or eleven pm). The owner of this place a true gentleman. Calm, friendly and helpful. Great location, charming host and a lovely room. Would happily go back.

I know it's all down to individual experience but what a lovely stay we had. Yes I know there are a few steps to deal with so if you are not so mobile it will be a problem. However, having such a central position means you can't have everything. Staff were all friendly and it helped to try and speak italian which was appreciated. We had problem with air conditioning and this got fixed without fuss. We were out for most of the day so we used the hotel for breakfast , to sleep and shower and for our purposes it was spot on and with its central location and helpful owner and staff I would be happy to recommend it particularly as there are so many restaurants nearby too!

Room Tip: A sea view room would be superb I think but our room had a small balcony overlooking a small square...

An enchanting small hotel with an excellent relation quality-price in a perfect location, one hundred meters from San Andrea Cathedral and the buses terminal. It is not an expensive "hotel de charme", but it is a charming place. A kind and competent staff.

We felt very welcomed in Lidomare, a mansion overlooking the sea and the central square, several steps up from Duomo. We were amazed by the spacious room and jacuzzi in the bathroom as well as comfy bed. The hotel was so attentive they called us when we were late to arrive due to traffic jam and missing public bus. They offered us a private transfer via a longer bypass. And stored our luggage after check-out. A great value for money!

Room Tip: As for room 44.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights. The location is great - it is close to the Duomo, and the bus station and port. It is a simple place, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean. The facilities are basic; the quality of the breakfast reflects the room rate. It is at the top of a flight of stairs, so be prepared to carry your baggage up and down. I was not sorry to leave this hotel, as for a little higher cost we got somewhere much better.
