“Amazing Hotel Perfect Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

We stayed at Lidomare for the Amalfi Regatta, the place is amazing its exactly what you expect to find in the amalfi coast, exceptionally clean, nice well appointed with spacious bedrooms, big beds, great shower, an italian palazzo with even wi-fi downstairs! Excellent value for the money!
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the authentic Italian charm. We had a sea view room on the 2nd floor, and it was really fantastic! Not to mention the kindness of the manager/ owner... The sweetest person ever!
All this thanks to Gaetano from the restaurant Il Tari another great find!, who recommended us and made all the necessary arrangements for us (we were 4 people) to stay there, on such a short notice and without even knowing us!!
Thank you very much you guys for making our stay in amalfi unforgettable! We will return! Best Regards from Miami Beach! Mike and Marcela Warshower.

Stumbled on this hotel and found it to be amazing. Inexpensive and located right at the pier of the town. Can be noisy during the day but that's fun and by late afternoon it quiets down. Had a huge room; very old fashioned, European style.

The owners are incredibly friendly.

Lidomare is a few steps away from main square and waterfront area. A beautiful spot and beautiful, well-appointed room--including room safe. Staff helped us with affordable room after we were stranded by buses after rock slide, so we couldn't get back to our hotel in Sorrento. Very kind and attentive staff.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 56, which was large and had view of church tower. A few stairs to get to it, so no...

Stayed here in June '11 and had the misfortune to arrive on the local Saint's Day. I had a little trouble locating the hotel which is located in a courtyard above the main square reached by a series of steps. I arrived just as the statue was been brought out of the church for the procession so the square was jam packed and it was next to impossible to get through dragging my luggage after me. I finally arrived at the hotel worn out from the experience. The owner showed my to my room - no lift so more steps and I was gobsmacked when he did not even offer to help me with my bags!! This welcome did not impress me. Room was spacious and bright and the fireworks were fantastic. Amalfi is extremely touristy and expensive and it is difficult to find a hotel with a pool hence one is forced to pay 15 euro per day to use the beach.

We stayed 2 days over Easter and loved this hotel's location - very close to the sea and town centre but tucked out of the way off a quiet courtyard. We had a private balcony looking to the sea and despite being next to the main road the thick window glazing and door cut out all sound at night.
We were a little confused at first about parking - I didn't reseach that part beforehand - and didn't reallise you couldn't drive up to the hotel. But we finally worked out just to drive into the main town square and from there the hotel can organise your car to be taken to a private parking place for a fee.
The room was large and comfortable.

We arrived at Lido Mare after a traumatic experience on the Naples/Circumvesuio train, where some very clever pickpockets had removed my husband's passport from his bumbag. We felt vulnerable and unsure, but were welcomed with great kindness by the owner and his wife, who then did everything in their power to settle us and make feel at home.
Our beautiful room had it's own private balcony overlooking the sea complete with linen covered table and chairs , bathroom complete with spa bath ,and attractive decor with gorgeous mosaic floor.
The location is superb, right in the Largo Piccolomini opposite the Duomo, bus stop within 100 metres, service was very good and friendly. We'd go back tomorrow.

A great location near the water, but must go up quite a few steps to get there. Had a large, tiled room to myself and the family owners were very friendly.
