“Convinient and overlooking the sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2009

We stayed two nights at the Marina Riviera. The hotel is just outside Amalfi at 5 min walking distance from the small centre and overlooking the sea. Breakfast is good and you can have it at the terrace with astonishing views of the amalfi cathedral and the sea which improves a lot the experience.

Rooms are ok but without luxuries and are not very big. When we came back from dinner to the hotel one night the lights were out and did not work. No AC either during that night. You can have a balcony but honestly we did not use it much although the views again are awesome. The hotel does not have a swimming pool which might be a disappointment for some people.

Service is nice but nothing special, more like the small familiar hotel type than the five stars hotel.

Overall we were satisfied with the hotel and I think it is a great choice at the Amalfi coast .Amalfi is a great base, the only other option I would consider is Positano, and the Marina Riviera location is perfect so close to the centre and secluded at the same time.

We were delighted by the attention to our well-being shown by the hotel. Despite arriving late morning, the hotel staff gladly offered us a late breakfast of coffee, croissants and yogurt on the hotel terrace overlooking the sea. Our room had been upgraded and we found ourselves not only with a balcony overlooking the sea but also a jacuzzi overlooking the sea. The rooms were clean and quiet. We were not only offered a late check-out, but also the use of the room until our late afternoon departure. The hotel gladly recommended two wonderful restaurants for dinner and arranged a driver to meet us and drop us off at the train station in Naples.

I stayed at the Marina Riviera in June 2008 for 4 nights. I found the hotel on Expedia and what can I say, absolute perfection!

It is a family run hotel on the cliff side at Amalfi. We were greeted by the very friendly staff when we arrived who then showed us to our room. There was fresh fruit and flowers in our room when we arrived, and lookinf out the window was like looking at a postcard!

The location was perfect. Just a few minutes walk to the town centre and buses, beach etc.

I would also highly recommend the hotel bar and room service! Each afternoon we had a glass of wine on the patio, The staff were always very friendly and prompt and the prices there were great as well. Oh definitely try the lasagne! We had it one night and it was the best meal I have ever had in Italy!

Breakfast was included in our rate as well and it was great! Fresh every day with a wide selection of food that was delicious!

I would definitely stay here again, infact I think I would go back to Amalfi just to stay at the Marina Riviera!

My husband & I were here on our 1 year wedding anniversary - we chose the hotel based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. Loved the hotel - Loved Amalfi Coast!!! The hotel was in fantastic location, our room had an amazing view and the staff so friendly. Such great value for money! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful - there is also a great restaurant right next door - fresh beautiful seafood.

LOVED HOTEL MARINA RIVIERA!!!!

Will definitely return.

Luckily we had a room with magnificent view of town and marina. Room basic but absolutely spotless. Staff were very friendly - the feeling was of a caring family hotel. Easy walk to town.

Me,my wife and son and his fiancee stayed at this wonderful hotel in July. The lady owner of the hotel made us really welcome. She gave us a free upgrade to a higher price room which had a Jacuzzi and balcony which had a beautiful view.
The hotel is immaculate and squeaky clean the staff are great, nothing is to much trouble.
The breakfast is to die for,and so is the bottomless coffee pot,you wont want to eat again til evening.
My wife remarked at the size of the Lemons on show at the bar,the owners husband told us that he grew them himself,in fact at the end of our stay he gave us a bag of them to take home.
We are going back there in February to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Hotel Marina Riviera was everything we hoped for and more!
It overlooks the ocean, spitting distance to the beach and stumbling distance to the shops - perfect!

The hotel is kept in very good order, is extremely clean and tidy and the hotel staff are brilliant - nothing is too much trouble and they are extremley helpful and friendly. The hotel has a relaxed feel about it and attracts people of all ages. Would DEFINATELY go back again and would recommend without hesitation.
