“Fantastic honeymoon - thank you so much.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We just got back from our honeymoon (7th to 14th April) and I have to say the Hotel Marina Riviera was absolutely fantastic - it surpassed all our expectations. The staff are so attentive and wonderful, they looked after us so well and I can't thank them enough.

We were in Room 64 - a lovely lovely room with a great view and a really good sized bathroom. The shower was great - water was always nice and hot and very powerful. I can't rave about the breakfast enough - every morning there was a wide selection of cheese, ham, yoghurts, perfect little cakes with an amazing taste, croissants, lasagne(!), pasta, and your choice of eggs, cereal and fruit and of course great coffee. It was hard not to go completely overboard.

I agree with a previous reviewer about this being the best hotel for location in Amalfi - just a few minutes' walk into town with a wonderful elevated view of the bay. Most of the other hotels are a bit of a walk away or too close to the centre.

The hotel itself was absolutely pristine, everything was sparkling and clean. There's a lovely collection of artwork on the walls - prints, photos, ceramics - and a cheeky little budgie on the terrace. The hotel has real charm that makes it so unique and which I would rate above the 5 star hotels in Amalfi.

Everyone from the reception to the cleaning staff were so friendly and really looked after us.

We were there when both the Restaurant Eolo and the pool were being refurbished. Any immediate disappointment was completely allayed however - we were able to go up to the rooftop terrace and it was surprisingly peaceful - not much noise and we were left alone to relax - so both of us got a sun tan. The hotel staff were so apologetic about the pool - there had been a month of rain just before we arrived so it had been impossible to finish it in time - it was almost done when we left and it looks like it will be fantastic. Be aware, it's only a little pool anyway - so more of a place to have a quick dip than do athletic lengths - but perfect all the same.

And as for Restaurant Eolo - we didn't miss it - there are some fantastic restaurants in Amalfi - our favourite was the Marina Grande on the beach. Don't go anywhere else!

I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Marina Riviera - just looking at photos of it now make me miss it already and we hope to return again very soon.

Room Tip: Room 64 has a wonderful view of the bay and a lovely little terrace.

Just want to say a massive thanks to the Marina Riviera Hotel! We have just come back from Amalfi on our Honeymoon and the Marina Riviera made it even more perfect!

i couldn't believe how clean the hotel was, absolutely spotless!

our room was perfect with a beautiful sea view and even a bottle of Champagne for us as we was on our honeymoon.

the view from the breakfast balcony was out of this world, honestly couldn't of asked for a breathtaking view whilst eating a large selection of food.

The service was amazing and so friendly! from the cleaners, breakfast staff to the receptionist couldn't of been more helpful

i wish we paid just a little more for a balcony but perfect all the same. we look forward to coming back to this hotel in the near future.

Many thanks again Marina Riviera

The hotel lived up to our expectations in almost every respect. Like previous reviews we were mightily impressed with the perfect view of Amalfi and the bay from both our room and the breakfast terrace. The hotel probably has the best location in Amalfi because of the view and the convenience of a short stroll into the town. It was great to hear the waves rolling in at night.
Our deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable with separate bath and shower, although the 'double' bed, being joined singles, dipped sharply in the middle. Frustratingly, the wi-fi was very erratic, and rarely worked in the morning unless you went down to the dining room.
Our only real disappointment was the fact that building work was going on in the pool area for the whole four days we were visiting. It was explained that this was due to some bad weather in the Winter but I notice from a previous review the identical thing happened in early April of last year. The hotel should make it clear if the pool will be available or not in advance of booking. It was definitely warm enough for swimming and the noise of the workers put us off sunbathing on the roof.

Just got back this morning from a fantastic stay at the Marina Riviera and what a wonderful break we had! My fiancé and I went with my parents to look at potential wedding venues in the area and the staff at the hotel were part of the reason, along with all the other amazingly kind and helpful people we met along the way that made us fall in love with Amalfi and definitely clarified for us that this is where we will get married. We stayed in rooms 78 (junior suite) and 79 (suite) and they were both bright, airy and modern with jacuzzi baths in both. Our jacuzzi was part of the room and looked over the Amalfi coastline- simply gorgeous. We will definitely be returning when we get married next year and shall be recommending it to our guests. Thank you so much to all the staff for making it such an enjoyable trip.

We stayed at the Marina Riviera for 5 nights and had a very relaxing time. The room was spacious and had a fantastic seaview. The hotel decoration was impressive and the standard of cleanliness very high. The reception and restaurant staff extreely friendly and helpful. Probably the highlight was the spectacular breakfast - the choice and quality of food was excellent all served by very helpful staff.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

First and foremost, what wonderful staff. They gave us such a personal and charming service, and went to extra lengths to assist us without ever even having to ask. From the delightful breakfast waiting staff, the incredibly helpful and charming reception staff, the efficient and kind cleaners, to the warmth of our night porter who greeted us late at night after a tiring journey. These people made our week on the amalfi such a memorable one.
The hotel is beautifully, and extremely conveniently, situated, with stunning sea views over the bay. Moments from the action of amalfi town, but far enough removed to not be disturbed. The rooms were spotless and perfectly comfortable to base ourselves at. The breakfasts were most certainly worth a mention - generous and varied.
I couldn't recommend this wonderful hotel more.

A little late with review...my apology to the hotel!
Destination wedding for our son in Ravello June 2012...groom's side, a group of 20+, came in from all over the United States and were met with a warm embrace and outstanding service by the management and staff of the hotel...not an easy feat dealing with arrival/departure schedules of so many guests but the hotel managed quite well.
Family had use of the larger suites, with lovely balconies overlooking the beautiful blue waters below...rooms are simple, not large but are spotless, crisp white, offer comfortable bedding and have well appointed bathrooms (you're in Amalfi - why would you spend time in your room when there is so much to see and experience all around you?)...lovely outdoor breakfast area became the meeting spot to start the days activities - American breakfast, as well as typical Italian buffet...front desk was able to assist us with any and every request that we had - tours, car service, restaurants, charters, etc...a small rooftop pool is available - a good place to relax in the late afternoon.
The Regatta was being held the weekend of the wedding, adding to the festive feel....Amalfi was a hopping place that weekend...hotel's location was ideal in that it was easily within walking distance to downtown Amalfi...yet, removed enough so that you did not hear traffic or revelers at the adjacent open-air bars and restaurants.
Not a luxury hotel but if location, ease of accessibility and a comfortable stay in the Amalfi area
is your primary criteria, Marina Riviera is your place - and, don't forget the view of the bay!
Our five days there were very happy days!

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are larger and have great views
