“Amazing hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2007

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, it was amazing! This hotel far surpassed our expectations even with all the great Tripadvisor reviews. We stayed here for 3 nights after running ourselves ragged sightseeing for the week beforehand and it was absolutely perfect. We had just a standard double room but it was a very large, comfortable room with a large bathroom and shower, a small balcony, and an amazing view of the beach and the town below. I saw no other hotel in Amalfi that looked capable of competing with the Marina Riviera. The service was wonderful (we had a problem with our shower was was fixed almost immediately) as was the breakfast, which was served on a terrace with a beautiful view. The beach is just downstairs (which is just stones as is typical on the Mediterranean) but the hotel also has a very nice sun deck if you don't want to lay on the stones or rent beach chairs. The center of town is only about a 5 minute walk. I don't have a bad thing to say about this hotel; I wish we would have stayed longer. I highly recommend this hotel and it is the only hotel that I would stay in on the Amalfi coast.

We just returned from a 9 day stay at the Hotel Marina Riviera in Amalfi, Italy. It turned out to be an excellent choice for our needs. The facilities were fine and the view was breathtaking. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning and the location was great, just a short walk to the main part of Amalfi. The highlight of our stay there was the excellent, efficient, and friendly staff. We were in Amalfi for our daughter's wedding, which was held at a facility near by. The staff members at Marina Riviera were pleasant, patient, and helpful to those of us staying at the Hotel, and also to our grown children who stayed at other facilities, but were in and out of the Marina Riviera on a daily basis. They even helped my son locate his missing luggage, although he was not booked there. I would highly recommend the Hotel Marina Riviera in Amalfi; we have wonderful memories of our stay and would love to return there someday.

The Hotel Marina Rivera was our favorite hotel during our two week trip to Italy. Our room (No. 56) was fantastic and featured a jacuzzi and private balcony facing both the sea and the town. The room also had a very comfortable bed and flat screen TV. The bathroom was very modern, and the wonderful contemporary shower was a welcome change from dated bathrooms and hand-held shower units we encountered in other parts of Italy.

The breakfast was delicious, and the area in which the breakfast was served was very pretty. The staff was also unfailingly helpful.

We loved Amalfi and the Hotel Marina Rivera and cannot wait to return!

My husband, his brother and girlfriend, and I stayed here for six days and every day was spectacular service. We always felt at home! The staff adored us, offered great recommendations, and the breakfast spread was the best in the country (literally....we never had another decent breakfast during our 15 day trip). We are so glad we started our 2 week trip in Amalfi because it set the tone for our entire trip! I recommend trusting the advice of the owner, (we lovingly called her "Mama"). She was exactly right about every restaurant.....we went to one after she gave us a bad look, and sure enough the food and service sucked! Mama knows best! (Fav. Restaurants: Gemma, Guseepis--sp?-behind Gemma, Ristorante Eolo).

well this is a tricky one the hotel is simply in the perfect location with the very best views of amalfi a few minutes walk and your in town.

we had room 79 this is located on top of the hotel and has a balcony or terrace which is massive you could have about ten of you sunbathing with ease looking out to sea where the boats are stunnning.

Breakfast was served on the main hotel balcony this was a good breakfast with again lovely view you can sit inside or outside.

The beach is only a few minutes walk away you can pay for sunloungers and umbrella for about 4-7 euros per day the beach is stony and slopes away so wouldnt be very good for young children.

We had a lovely time here and was satisfied overall with the hotel.

we had one problem and it was a big problem the shower/room didnt have any hot water at peak times we complained and was offered another room but the balcony from this room made up for the lack of water so we stayed up on top...

Amalfi overall is probably the best place to stay along the coast you can visit everywhere else by ferries.

This was my first long-awaited trip to the Amalfi Coast and our stay could not have been better ! I booked this hotel literally a few days before my trip (clearly not recommended) and was keeping my fingers crossed that things would work out. Upon arriving, we were greeted warmly by the proprietors, Antonio and Josephina (aka "juicy) who were delightful. The hotel was clean, very conveniently located and had incredible views of the coastline ! The room was more than adequate, small yet comfortable, and also had a lovely view of the water. If you would like to be close to the action, conveniently situated to access other areas (ie: Ravello, Positano & Capri), while having a lovely breakfast with fantastic capuccinos and stunning views, this is absolutely one worth considering. There's also a charming soul named Alessandro who gave us a lot of helpful guidance. Overall - very enjoyable... we could not have been happier ! (pics hopefully to follow)
