“The most charming hotel.....”

Excellent, friendly and helpful staff, perfect location. Not the trendiest hotel, -but it beats them all with charm, location and friendliness. Fantastic views, just a short walk into Amalfi, 1 minute from the beach

This little hotel has a perfect location - a short walk to the Amalfi piazzas, restaurants and shops. Private beach just a few meters from hotel - sunbed and towel to rent from reception. The staff are very friendly and informative. Easy to bring car when arranged in beforehand. The room was nice, clean and with a fantastic view to the Mediterranean sea, the harbour and the city. Until next time - arrivederci!

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd floor have the best views (to the city of Amalfi and to the Mediterranean sea) and have...

Perfect location, a short flat walk to the town. Hotel staff very friendly and informative. I arranged through the hotel email a car to meet us at Naples station and to return to the station. this service was handled well and quickly. Our room was good with fabulous balcony overlooking the harbour. Drinks on the terrace with Ms Danielle, the hotel owner, was a lovely touch. We enjoyed 6 days of perfect weather, the beach beds were easily accessible and always very well attended to. We loved our time here and would like to return. Throughly recommend this hotel

Of all the places in Italy that we were to stay, this was the one we were looking forward to most. We paid top dollar to get a "superior room with ocean view on top floor with terrace", on arrival we were told the hotel was full and we will have to settle for what was available. The room looked nothing like the pictures, all external pictures in any advertising shows hotel la bussola which is 200 meters up the road. let's just say the comparison is chalk and cheese!!! Furthermore, the door lock to the room was falling apart, the shower head was spraying in all directions but down and the safe that we had no key to would struggle to fit one credit card. I found my overall experience with hotel Aurora to be misleading to say the least! It did however have a great location but definitely not worth the money. Would not recommend to anyone...

Dear Guest,
my staff and I have to thank you very much for your review: thank you for being inable to use the shower which has 3 different water reducers; thank you for breaking the door-knob, thank you for accusing us of business trickery putting room's photos of another hotel on our web site and the last but not the least thank you for considering a bit idiots all clients who have appreciated our service.
Many, many thanks again.

Located right at the end of the harbour with a beach in front and no traffic. A few minutes easy walk to the splendours of Amalfi. Rooms with a sea view have a perfect setting with the beach just below, sleep to the sound of the waves on the shore.

Breakfast is reasonable with a variety of cold items. Drinks available all day, but no Restaurant. This is not a problem with some close by and the best in Amalfi a 10 minute walk away.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

Temperature of the Hot Water in the shower tends to vary and could be dangerous for children. A notice to this effect would be sufficient.

Room Tip: Standard Rooms are good, though could feel cramped for a long stay. Those with a balcony are probab...

My husband and I went to Italy for our honeymoon in June 2012 and one of our stops was in Amalfi. We stayed at the Hotel Aurora, which was by far the BEST experience we had on our two week tour. We started our stay at this hotel by being greeted by Christina, who was AMAZING (as was every single person who worked at the hotel). She took us to our room and showed us everything that we needed to know. We were so pleased by the room, it was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We got a room at the top with a balcony - which is LARGE. It comes with two lounge chairs and a table. Our view was breathtaking of the sea. Everything about Amalfi was perfect. It was gorgeous, the food was delicious, the people were nice, and the town square was charming. It was fun to explore the different alleyways and discover restaurants. The mozzerrella in Amalfi was the best I have ever eaten ANYWHERE. I would definitely come back to this hotel when visiting Amalfi again.

I stayed at aurora for 6 nights in july2012. Everything was wonderful. The view, the room, the service, the position of the hotel. I really do not have a complaint and amalfi is a great base to tour from. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to amalfi and when I return will definitely be choosing hotel aurora again. I recommend the superior rooms with wonderful balconies, however the less expensive rooms seemed great too

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aurora Hotel is the perfect spot to spend an unforgettable holiday in Amalfi.Located nearby the Amalfi Marina, the hotel is only 500 meters from the hustle and bustle of Piazza Duomo. It is the ideal accommodation for visiting the Amalfi Coast and its picturesque villages, such as Ravello, Positano, Capri and even the Pompeii Excavation, which are all within easy reach. The bus station and the wharf are only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. After a long day-trip, Aurora Hotel is just a short walk to downtown and the beach, and it is accessible without climbing stairs. One final recommendation from the hotel management: if you want to spend a few relaxing days in Amalfi, please check Aurora Hotel location on Google Maps and compare it with other hotels. Most of Amalfi hotels are located in the noisy old Town, accessible by climbing long stairs; some others are located on the highway to Positano, so you will need to take the bus, a taxi or your car in order to reach the city, driving down one of the busiest roads in Italy! ... more   less
