We stayed in this accommodation for 4 nights and were not really satisfied. First my husband has trouble climbing stairs, so when I booked I asked if there were any steps at the apartment. I was told there were a dozen or so to get up to the apartment, so we decided that was not too bad as many other enquiries I had made for Amalfi specified 100, 200 and some even 300 steps up the Amalfi coast, so a dozen did not seem bad.
Firstly, we could not find the place, drove round and round, tom tom was giving us directions but we still could not find it. Finally, we asked some men on their motor bikes on the side of the road, and one told us to follow him as he knew where it was. We drove down small alley ways and lanes where our car just fit through up and down hills till we got there. There was no way we would have found this place on our own in a million years. Once we got there, the owner showed us our accommodation and he seemed nice enough. The only thing was he and his sister who lives in the apartment upstairs were always hovering about and looking and it seemed that they were checking up on us all the time. Felt a bit strange.
Secondly, there was a major problem getting anywhere on foot from the apartment. We noticed that there were a dozen steps or so to get from the car park to the apartment, so that was fine, but and a big BUT, to get to the bus stop, restaurants, cafes, supermarket, you had to climb nearly 200 steps or so up the mountain. They had forgotten to mention that when I enquired initially. We went there in Summer, so by the time my husband and I reached the top, we were completely exhausted and in pain, since we are not spring chooks any more. We were very annoyed that we were not told this, but unfortunately, we had already paid our money, so we had to stay and put up with it. But I can assure you, it will never happen again. This accommodation is not recommended for small children or older people. Just too difficult and exhausting. The town of Pogerola is beautiful though and the towns people are very nice. Try and find other accommodation.
