“interesting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

We visited this museum during a day on the Amalfi Coast, we did not know that the "carta di Amalfi" was so famous!
With pleasure we learned some news about the production of this small ancient treasure thanks to a guided tour in English that we got right at the entrance of the museum, a short visit but very interesting.

“Very interesting and a nice break from the crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Walk about 400 metres along the main drag away from the square and you'll come upon the museum. Admission is 4 euros and includes a guide who speaks good English and is very patient. The tour took about 30 minutes and was very enjoyable as you see how (and where) the famous Carta Amalfitana was made -- from the 14th century. Great for kids to -- they may get to start to make a piece of paper.

Low key and friendly -- with a small shop to browse before or after your tour.

Good restaurant across the street for after the tour.

“Very interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

This museum was just 5 minutes from our apartment and probably a 15 minute walk from the center of town where the church is located. Admission was €4, had a very knowledgeable guide who spoke English very well; explained the process of paper making, the machinery and the Amalfil river which provided the power. The gift shop has a number of hand made products.
Very much enjoyed the tour.

“Very very interesting to see how linen paper is made”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Below street level is in a grotto is old hand made machinery driven by water. We saw how they made paper from scraps of linen. Amalfi was famous for its paper. They still make paper on a small scale. The tour is short and interesting. Afterwards you can buy handmade paper. We really enjoyed the museum.

“interesting but short”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

it shows 3 machines used thoughout time to make hand made paper. Since I have a passion for paper I would have loved to have more insights on the later stages too.
