“Not to be Missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

We stumbled across this place when walking through the alley ways in Amalfi. We are staying at Positano and apart from a couple of exceptions we've been disappointed with the food. Whilst this is a humble fish & chip shop (Italian Style) the food is excellent.

We ordered a small serve as a test then sat down outside and ordered some more plus a couple of beers and a sparkling wine. The food was sensational. This isn't a restaurant as such just a take away place with a couple of seats ... But do yourself a favour and try it.

“We're hooked on this Italian fish & chip shop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012 via mobile

We stumbled across this tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe yesterday night and came back for seconds! The owners fry fresh seafood in front of you before serving it in a paper cone (you can even ask for a slice of Amalfi lemon). We had the squid and prawns, then went back for the small fishes and chips, sampling the local wine too. It makes the perfect pre-dinner snack, or you could even get a few cones for a light (and very cheap) dinner followed by an ice cream at one of the nearby gelaterias. Wish we had a place like this in London!

“Fish and chips rip off style”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2011 via mobile

I don't understand the fuss. Sure it's unusual to see this style of food being offered on the Amalfi coast and it's a nice change from pizza, but the shop stinks of oil, the girl that worked there each if the three days we stayed was always outside smoking barely interested in serving anyone and the cones were tiny. We got the €7 mixed cone and it is barely a snack. That's almost US/AU$10 which would feed two to three people on fish and chips in Australia. There's better value and definitely better service elsewhere in Amalfi.

“Fried Seafood in a paper cone to go!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

We loved the fried seafood at Cuoppo d'Amalfi. Served pipping hot in a paper cone, just the right amount for a snack to share during our walk through Amalfi. The price was very reasonable and the owner was so nice and friendly.

“Italian version of takeout "fish and chips"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2010

This is a little hole-in-the-wall, on a small laneway between Piazza dei Dogi, and Piazza Duomo. Your fish and fries come in a paper cone, and you take them and your beverages to a bench in the laneway across from the "restaurant". Everything is hot, crisp and delicious. We had the mixed fried fish-calamari,anchovies,shrimp and flying squid, as well as french fries, and fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta cheese. To drink we had a beer, and glass of vino bianco. If you are craving "fast food", this is the place to go. Good, fresh fish at a good price-and fun too!
