“Nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The B&B is a bit hidden behind the street and if you use Google street-view it was quite easy to find. Stairway up to the B&B quite steep. Location right on the east, noth-east of the big church. Big room, high sealing, and spaceous. Good bed, clean and ok.
Just aa few stairs and corridors and then you are out in the main street. Good place to take hiking from, and not far from the beach, touristboates, bus station, and the beautiful city of Amalfi.

The young lady mentioned in earlier reviews is called Annalisa and we endorse everything that other guests have said about her. She was invariably charming and helpful whatever the request - including ordering us a taxi for the airport, lugging our 20 kilo case down all ?40+ stairs and even waiting with us on the pavement until the taxi arrived. The Residenza itself is very conveniently located though the steps could prove difficult for people with mobility problems. It overlooks a small square where concerts (of the rock variety) are held sometimes, which would defeat even the best soundproofing. Our room (Martes) was a good size with a comfortable king size bed. We thought the pillows were fine. The room was spotlessly clean. Our friends had upgraded to a larger room (Venere) with more space to move around. We would probably plump for this on a second visit . A criticism (not confined to this hotel) is the lack of upkeep on small, practical things which nevertheless make life much easier. There was one dead lightbulb in the room centre light and another one in the bathroom. Obviously, the cleaners don't check these things. The noise from the hairdryer resembled a concrete mixer while the dryer itself threw out blue sparks. I reported this as dangerous, particularly as it is a bathroom fixture. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice and available either on the pleasant terrace or in your room at no extra charge. A hint - if your UK adaptors won't fit in the bedroom points, try the bathroom one. They will there. The only other minus was the €5 euro charge for leaving your suitcase in the hotel if you have a departure after 11am. We thought this spoiled the otherwise warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by the wonderful Annalisa.

We enjoyed our stay at Residenza Sole, the lady who greeted us and showed us everything and who was also serving breakfast and cleaning breakfast did a remarkable job. She is a star, I cannot remember her name but she had curly blonde hair. She was so friendly and helpful and managed everything by herself, not sure how she does it all by herself!! We had a great stay, the balcony for breakfast is nice, the rooms are a nice size and were clean, however yes there is problems with no soundproofing and guests making lots of noise. Was nice and quiet besides other guests noise.

Amalfi was such a small town but the hotel was 2min walk to the beach. The breakfast left us feeling full for most of the day, lots of options to choose from, we enjoyed the breakfast. One thing I will say to the owner is invest in new pillows!! They were all disgusting and bumpy and lumpy. Nice new pillows please!! Tried to get another pillow from the spare bed and that had hairs on it but wasn't as bumpy. Wifi is good. Breakfast was great, everything great, but please NEW PILLOWS!!

The host was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The location in Amalfi is great as well. Also good value for the area, and the continental breakfast was nice. In general it was very good.

However, the Wifi did not work properly a lot of the time which is annoying. Also, there was literally no sound-proofing in our room, the windows don’t close properly so every outside sound comes in loud and clear, usually starting (with The Bells!) around 6:30am.

My wife and I and our son and his girlfriend stayed here during Easter. The young lady running the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The location was terrific, a very short walk to the main Cathedral square. The room was comfortable and the morning breakfast on the terrace was a good start to the day. A cosy place we enjoyed.

Was so close to the bus stop that made getting around effortless. As well as being a passage walk away from the town centre.

The lady at reception was always there to help and made the croissants by hand everyday! The breakfast was served on a large balcony at reasonable times whenever you were ready.

The rooms were large, clean and spacious with air con and huge windows.
Really enjoyed our stay.

Only thing negative was the WIFI. So temperamental!

We stayed here for two weeks last july. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, though slightly worn (by crazy Norwegian standards). Keep in mind that the area is quite expensive. The service was fantastic, Mariateresa provided helpful advice and perfect cappuccinos for breakfast (!). The location is perfect for getting to the beach or the center of Amalfi. The view was nothing much, but the Amalfi coast has no shortage of those.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Residenza Sole!
