“Romantic villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

We stayed at this beautiful villa for a week in the middle of September. I loved the most the atmpsphere of this place - peaceful, calm with cosy italian decorations in design. We've booked the Aurora room which has 3 big arch windows overlooking the sea through which we could enjoy the sunrise every morning. For booking it's much better to contact the hotel directly - in our specific case the prices were much lower than any booking system offers. The room is very light with nice mediteranean furniture, always very clean. The staff - very helpful and breakfast - simple and fresh.
For the beach you will just need to cross the road. Though it costs 15 euro per person it's much better than any Amalfi public ones. In September there is not much people, the sun is very tender and the sea - refreshing. I honestly think - September is the best season for Amalfi and this villa is a perfect place to spend vacation on its coast.

Room Tip: Aurora room is the best

We are really excited about the appreciation of Mrs. Tatiana. Rewards us for all our efforts to make the best possible holiday for our guests.
Discover the essence of the place and understand the correct approach to be adopted, allows the passing of the best holiday we can.
Actually, september is an incredible month for holidays in Amalfi, sun and sea are present in abundance, with no-frenetic rhythms of the high-season.
Renew the invitation to our guests to come back again in the near future.
Best Regards.

We stayed one nite in the villa and were totally impressed. The staff could not have been more kind and generous with their assistance. The rooms were adorable and immaculate. The beach and the pool were beyond our expectation. It is an easy walk to Amalfi so the shuttle is hardly necessary as most of the way there is a small sidewalk. And the view was spectacular. I personally want to thank the staff for making our time in Amalfi perfect.

This was our first time in Amalfi, and when we initially looked around the different places to book we were a little unsure about each place. We read a number of reviews and this place stood out the most, so we took the plunge and booked this place. To get here we caught one of the Sita Busses from Salerno and the bus took us to Amalfi town (last stop). Afterwhich we were faced with thought of either hauling our bags for 1k up hill or to get a taxi, initially we attempted to haul our bags uphill - but with the tight roads and traffic this was near impossible. Once we got to our hotel we were actually taken back, the pictures on here doesn't really do the place justice. The place was clean, and we were met with a friendly greeting from the reception area. They knew who we were before we could even tell them. We were taken up to our rooms, and we had assistance with getting our bags up the short stairs. We had booked the Sea View room, and I haven't seen the other rooms, but it was well worth it. Some people might say that you get the same view from the breakfast area, but waking up to that view was well worth it.

The breakfast spread was quite decent, mainly cold cuts, toast, a selection of juices, yoghurt, fresh fruit (including figs from the tree outside), and coffee made to order. You have the choice of sitting outside, or within the garden overlooking the water. The view was simply majestic, and I could sit there just looking at that view.

Getting to and from the town is not difficult, it is less than a 1km - going to town is downhill and getting back is uphill. You can catch a taxi for about 10 euros - unless there is a special event or if you have luggage in which case they can charge up to 15 euros.

There is a wide spread of restaraunts, activities, and beach area to immerse yourself in. There is a semi-private beach which you need to book. The tip that the hotel gave us was to take the 400 stairs down - which sounds huge but its not, then catch a boat from the beach back to amalfi town and walk back. We took this option and it made our lives easier.

Overall, this is the perfect place to stay at in amalfi. This is one of those places that I find myself saying that I would stay here again on my next amalfi trip.

Room Tip: sea view room...

The b&b is situated less than 1 km from the centre of Amalfi, a 10-15 minute walk or 4 minute bus ride. The rooms are simple, clean and the view is worth a million dollars. After a day of walking and discovering the coast, you can pull a chair and a glass of wine and watch the sun go down, before heading out to experience the night life. It is magical.

The breakfast is very plain with cold cuts, croissants, jam etc. Nothing to be excited about, except the terrace which has the same incredible view. They serve proper cappuccino and espresso, no drip coffee or automatic machines. You can sit there for hours staring at the water. By now you probably realized I liked the view... But the place is worth staying at, the location is very good, they offer parking (for a fee), the staff speaks good English and they are very accommodating. Communication prior to arriving was very efficient (email responses within a few hours).

We had an excellent stay and would absolutely go back.

After risking my life in the amalfi coast by car (road is thin), Arrive at this small hotel. First of all, there's no parking. The city keep them for the residents. If you are lucky you can park on the road but at your own risk. So, expect 18 euros more to park in the villa. The view is amazing but you got to understand that every hotel has the pretty same view. So the difference is the staff. There were really helpful and friendly. They offer good advice about the center. Your about 20 minutes by foot to downtown. Don't go there by car. You can go by taxi or bus but its expensive so take your foot! Dont take the economic room, its very small. Attention: THERE'S NO POOL AT THIS PLACE!!! We were trick by the photos. You got to pay 10 euros and they bring you to a beautiful and relaxing pool with the sun until 7pm (because of the mountains). If you want the public beach you can take the 400 stairs or pay 16 euros to take the elevator. Sun until 4 or 5 pm. So I reccommend the pool! The breakfast is delicious. They have good pastry and they prepare good coffee. I suggest to do what i did: go to a market in napoli and buy wine, drinks and food because its very expensive in amalfi (they know that there's a lot of tourist) The room is clean the bathroom is spacious. They offer shower products. There is a mini bar. You have to go there one time in your life. I reccommend this place because it's not so expensive but be prepare to pay some extras for the pool and the parking.

Room Tip: Make some provisions before going to amalfi, don't take the economic room,

We wish to thank our gracious guests to have enjoyed our daily effort to enable our clients to devote themselves fully to the much-desired relax of
the holiday.
Unfortunately, the problem of the parking is real in Amalfi: there are not enough parking spaces also for residents. Therefore we suggest you to book
parking at the competitive price of € 18,00 per day, given that the public car park in the center has a fare of € 5,00/hour.
Our daily clearly evident intention is to better expose to customers information about our structure, in order to make more informed them on that they choose. Let's numerous efforts to inform in detail about everything we offer to our guests;so we reiterate the notion that it is always
preferable to visit the direct website of the hotel and proceed from there to the reservation. This is because the information that we display on our
website are always the most detailed possible than any other, because we are to publish the contents; on the other -channels-, we are not
responsible for what they said, where the contents are different respect that we have communicate them. Other -channels-, often by necessity of space, do not publish all the information we provide to them, inevitably leaving out some details that are rather important information for guests.
Just about the pool, as you can read on our website, it is clearly indicated in all languages which is a service agreement and payment (with
the price) reached by internal shuttle service free of charge to approximately 1km, placed on the terraces above the villa a short air
distance. The same for the beach, always in agreement and payment (€ 15.00 and € 16.00) that we offer as a service to customers at no profit margin
for us.
We emphasize that services are guaranteed only if booked directly on our site and, anyway, if requested at time of booking.
We thank our guests for having enjoyed the breakfast that -was- continetale over time, but enriched with numerous products more and more
appreciated by the international guests that visit us.
Enthusiastic for having appreciated the effort of our staff, we hope to have you back with us again at Villa Maria Luigia in the near future.

This is a beautiful property. Great view of the sea. lovely breeze. Huge rooms , especially the ones with the balcony. This is an ideal place , as Amalfi town is about a 15 minute walk, which is very good especially after you've consumed all the cheese. Great place for big groups. And yes, excellent staff. Pretty and Smiling faces. And nice breakfast. Will stay here, if ever I go to Amalfi again.

Room Tip: The one with the balcony.

Very nice B&B with wonderful views and just a short walk down to Amalfi!
Room was very clean and nice, breakfast nothing special - but we love to have a cappuccino and brioche at a bar somewhere anyway!
We would definitly stay there again in Amalfi.
By the way we are thinking about travelling the Amalficoast next time without a car - as its easy to go everywhere by bus or boat!
