“Hidden Gem in the Amalfi Coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2011

This bed in breakfast is truly a hidden gem in the Amalfi Coast. The view from their balconies over the water is breathtaking! It is pristinely clean and beautiful tile throughout. The staff of Raffella, Valentina and Alfonso were so friendly and helpful. It is very reasonably priced and well exceeds in value. I highly recommend this B & B.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the water. You will be amazed by the view everyday!

We loved staying at this hotel in Amalfi! The place was beautifully decorated and clean. The only critisim was the shower drain was clogged. which we were told would be fixed. The place was away from the noise from the tour buses in Amalfi, but within walking distance from the shops. The breakfasts were good. I especially loved the large croissants, peach juice and cappuccino for breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful. The view from the hotel knocked your socks off view. We ate breakfast on the partially covered porches facing the water, which was gorgeous.

If you're traveling to Amalfi, I highly recommend staying at the Villa Maria Luigia - You will not be disappointed!! The staff is very pleasant and accommodating... The hotel is very beautiful and very clean, with wonderful views of the mediterranean from their wonderful terrace where we had breakfast and 'happy hour' daily. The Villa is a short walk to town which allows for quiet accommodations, while getting a little exercise in each day (though bus service is certainly available if you'd rather not walk)
I will absolutely stay here again upon my next visit!

We had a short but marvellous summer break in Italy in july this year. We found Villa Maria Luigia after a brief internet search and took the plunge. It was an excellent hotel - the accommodation was cool and airy, the staff were very attentive and breakfast on the terrace was a delight - overlooking the sea.

The location is a little out of Amalfi but it was a comfortable walk down to the town. I recommend taking the bus (EUR 2) back up to the hotel as the hill is fairly steep - a taxi is a more expensive option (EUR15). Use the ferries to go along the coast it's fun and inexpensive

There's a private (pebbly) beach opposite the hotel open from about 7am

I would highly recommend Villa Maria Luigia and would like to return

Room Tip: There are large superior double rooms overlooking the sea

This would be hard to beat for value-for-money accomodation on the amalfi coast.
Perfect location (15 min walk to Amalfi but not in the busy section). Exceptional service (the staff served breakfast for us 2 hours early as we had a plane to catch). Stunning views. Large airy clean rooms with large bathrooms and floor to ceiling glass doors for those views.
I want to go back!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper choose a back room, away from the main road. However you will miss out on...

I cannot tell you how wonderful Villa Maria Luigi is....I came for a week and stayed in both the superior room and the Aurora (Cozier) with the most amazing views of Amalfi...I traveled from Naples via ferry with my partner and was really shaken up...
I realized once the ferry left Naples that I left my passport hidden in my previous hotel room in Naples...When I arrived to Villa Maria the warm Raphaella greeted me with a huge smile offered me help with my bags (thank god they have an elevator) and calmed me down..The property was so pretty that I forgot about my passport situation and soaked it all in...We called my hotel and Raphaella Valentina and Lucas worked with me to get my passport overnight to Villa Maria which put me at ease.

Raphella & Valentina are the angels @ Villa Maria!!!!

The staff is wonderful...the property is so beautiful...MUCH better than the hotel pics....the room rates are excellent...the private beach is right accross the street...15 Euro a day....We went to Capri-Positano and all the while i missed my home @ Villa Maria in Amalfi...

15 -20 minute walk to town center...It was SO nice to be off the center of town to be in this beautiful villa...It was nice walking but can get a little scary as streets are narrow with cars driving @ night but it is so worth it!!!

Villa Maria was EXCELLENT....I want to come back very soon!!!

Our first time in Amalfi, this was a great place to stay. The location was just close enough to be able to walk to the center of Amalfi in 15 minutes, from which we took a day trip to Capri, and the villa is right on the Amalfi drive so easy to catch a bus right outside the hotel to Positano and the other coastal villages. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, there was always someone there, they were definitely trying to keep guests happy! They have paid parking and wifi and the views from the terraces out front and the sea view rooms are amazing. Also very clean. Will definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends!

Villa Maria Luigia, belonging to the Amendola family, is the result of a careful and refined renovation of an elegant villa dating back to the 900's. Its position allows you to reach the historic centre quickly but offers peace and quiet when you want to relax.
