“Special Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

If you are looking for a special meal when you are in Amalfi this restaurant is lovely. A little bit more expensive than the other restaurants but worth a visit. If you book, you can get a table overlooking the street from an upstairs terrace. Wine is a bit pricey but food was delicious. Their sister restaurant Piazza Duomo also worth a visit.

“Amazing Dining in Amalfi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We had our favorite meal in Amalfi at Da Gemma. I had made a reservation via email a few weeks before our trip and called the same day to confirm. It was our first night in Amalfi and we had a long day of traveling so we ate early, reservations at 7pm. We arrived a few minutes early and was so glad that we did because we were seated at a table on the patio at the end of the balcony overlooking the street. Simply beautiful setting. 30-45 minutes after we arrived, the patio was completely full and people were being sat inside. We started with the caprese three ways, which was fabulous (fried, traditional salad, and a cold soup). I had sea bass and my husband mushroom ravioli. We were very satisfied and skipped dessert to explore gelato shops downtown. The service was very friendly and attentive. Great experience.

“Terrible service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Difficult review to write because the service was so awful but the food was so good. The chef should fire all the waitstaff. The setting is beautiful and the food is wonderful; maybe we just caught them on a bad day.

“Fine dining in Amalfi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We had a lovely evening at this great little restaurant in Amalfi. We stumbled on it by chance (hadn't done my usual TripAdvisor research..) and nearly missed it when we were directed to an inside table and we said 'no thanks'. Then.. Luckily as we were about to leave an outside terrace table became available and so a great night begun.
The location is great - above the main village street so you still feel a part of the village but away from all the street traffic (mainly people and some scooters).
The service was friendly, attentive and very good with reasonably priced local wine recommendations.
The atmosphere - fabulous - mix of locals and some tourists. The terrace was packed but in a good way.
The food - delicious!! Huge servings - inventive food, new takes on traditional recipes - yum yum yum.
Highly recommended!

“Good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

They serve traditional Italian food. The food was very good, with big portions, and service was good. Many locals recommended this restaurant to us so must be one of the places to go in Amalfi.
