“A nice promenade”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

I go time to time to visit my greatgrandmother's house and keep it open for a while. So i know Reggio Calabria very well. The promenade is totally safe, nice and panoramic. The only reason it deon't reach the 5 rate is because of the people. It is always overcrowded from 20:00 till late and people really looks like they come from another universe. We went there last time few weeks ago and we had a dog with us: everybody reacted in a very funny and fancy way!! A lot of people immediatly asked if it bites, others jumped away in terror, others looked at it like they never saw one in their life... unluckly the people you find in this promenade gives you the feeling they are mentally stuck in a medieval perception of life. Moreover they succeed in keeping the seaside clean somehow but totally fail in cleaning the other side and honestly the dirt i've seen this year is really not suitable for a european country. Dear people of Reggio Calabria: well done with the Lungomare, but try to grow up in terms of being european; today as i see you, you definitively shouldn't deserve to be called Europe. Sad to say cos i like the way you are friendly but really... you have a problem of civilization. Also those who saw the wonderful building arabian style right behind the Rabarama statues... it is falling apart!! it's a damn shame on you if you don't ricover it asap. The last thing i've seen is two disgusting trash bags trown directly inside the Roman baths ruins at the end of the Lungomare. Try to rule yourselves... that is IMPOSSIBLE to happen!!

Apart for this critics (that are strong because i'd love to see this city better) i love the city and i have to tell that people i've spoken to they are very very friendly and most recognize they have to grow in terms of being more organized. Enjoy the promenade and if you go at lunch time don't miss the "Aperitivo" e.g. in Morabito café... you won't regret it!! it's a full lunch with 8 euros...

“Amazing experience with evening walk on the sea shore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Beautiful place, many restaurants, caffe shops, dance clubs. Having a walk on sea shore in the evening and too see sun set is wonderful. Resting and relaxing on the beach with drink and to enjoy wind and sea little tides is great. In the night, listen music and have a party wow.

“Una bella passeggiata”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

A beautiful walk, 'una bella passegiata' along lungomare is relaxing in the evening or the day! There are not many caffes/restaurants along the water.

“What a dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Like Blackpool without even the low key entertainment. Traffic fumes, noise and people trying to rip you off at every turn. No thanks.

“Great views to Sicily”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2011

Recently landscaped to take advantage of the waterfront position. A broad avenue of marble provides direct access to the waterfront. Lovely during the day and a picture at night viewing the lights across the straight.
