“Great location and free fast wi-fi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Lovers of water views must ask for a sea view and then be prepared to ignore the music and festivities along the boardwalk. I booked at the last minute on a great rate that included breakfast and wi-fi. I arrived at 12pm slightly early, but Flavia at Reception was fantastic and had the room prepared.

First stop was the beach for the afternoon. Pescara has a lot of beachfront activities during summer days and nights, this particular day the Pescara Skydiving Club were showcasing their members landing on the beach! Next stop was a sunset powerwalk along the boardwalk, where you will see football-tennis-kids-on-trampolines-families-bike-riding-very outdoorsy...loved it. Then dinner and a gelato, plenty to choose from right across from the hotel. I had to depart at 5am so Flavia organised a take-away breakfast, which was very much appreciated. I would stay there again for the view and location alone, the room is the perfect size for a solo traveller. The renovated bathroom and power shower overlooking the beach were outstanding...plenty of space for a girl to lay out all her toiletries!

This hotel is across from the beach with lovely views of the water.
However, there was no ramp for luggage and there were several steps up to the lobby.
The rooms were small and the wallpaper was peeling. The staff was friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible but there were a few inconsistencies. We were told that the pedestrian bridge was closed - it wasn't. We asked about visiting an olive oil farm - we were directed to a winery.
Parking was 15 euros a night and we had to be buzzed in. The car was brought out for us when we needed it.
Breakfast was ok.

The Carlton Hotel is at a good location. The beach is just across the street and there are shops and good restaurants in walking distance.
The Carlton is more a business Hotel than a place for a longer vacation. The rooms are nice and clean, but very small, so we had problems to stow our luggage. The view from the seaside rooms is great, but you have to keep the window closed, because it's very noisy.
Breakfast is average.

Just across the road from the beach - old-fashioned hotel reminding one of the 30's. Friendly reception; help in organising parking; good service at the Italian breakfast and an ideal venue for discovering Pescara. Not far from super restaurants and excellent shopping. Rooms perhaps a trifle small but with an excellent view of the beach.

Room Tip: make sure to reserve a room with a beach view.

My husband and I are both 'nordics'. We need a cold room to sleep in at night. The room was overheated for us. The hotel claimed to have AC but they really don't. The courteous desk clerk explained to us that no hotel in Italy has cold air coming out of heating vent. (This isn't quite true since in Rome our hotel did have real AC).In the end we decided to keep the window open and the room cooled down nicely. Next: food dilemma. As in many European small cities restaurants serve only at meal times. No non-stop. We were very hungry and the desk clerk explained that at around six in the evening is apperitivi time. Restaurants serve drinks and often put out a spread of cocktail food. That was nice to know. And yes, the beach view was really great!

Room Tip: make sure it's a beach view room

Second visit in Pescara and second stay in Carlton.
Lovely place when you have sea view room.
Hotel is just standing on the beach, surrounded by small good restaurants.
Perfect place to stay privately of in business. I was operating from that hotel for one week and did 2500 km by car

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

clean, lift, overlooking the beach, free fast WiFi, great breakfast, close to mall which leads to train station, fridge, people come out at dusk in the mall and beach, restaurant, large breakfast, has many steps from road to reception (heavy bags can be a problem)

Room Tip: choose a room with a view
