“2 nights at the Carlton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

This hotel is in a good location right on the sea front next to the free beach.
The beds were the most comfortable that we have so far slept in. lovely linen and great towels plus slippers!!!The breakfast was great, lots to eat, lots of choice ( except for the fresh fruit which was either not yet ready or all gone !!) The room in which we stayed was largish but had no view other than the metal emergency stairs which blocked one opening the window. This was not a problem for 2 days but any longer one might start to feel a little hemmed in. Reception was fine if a little detached . Bikes can be hired free for an hour but I do recommend reserving them in advance as they were all out when we tried to do so.

Room Tip: Ask for a view no back stairs!!!!

The Carlton hotel is an adequate hotel, but not one that I would want to stay at for a long period of time. I only stayed briefly, for about 12 hours.

Room: The sleeping area of the room that I had was quite small (but clean). Just enough room for the bed, closet, and desk. The television was placed on the room's desk because of the limited space. The bed was very small.

That said, the bathroom was very clean, contemporary and comfortable. The shower was big and the bathroom was probably almost as big as the sleeping room. This was the best part of the room.

The room wasn't exactly sound-proof, as I could hear people talking in the hallway from my bed. I usually bring earplugs with me as I travel, and I needed them in this hotel.

Breakfast: The breakfast at the Carlton was very nice. It had many options, such as a waffle station, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh cheeses and meats, cereal, eggs, and much more. Your server brings you freshly made coffee, which was great. I enjoyed the breakfast very much here.

The location of this hotel is great, right along the beach. However, we happened to be traveling during the main Italy vacation season, and Pescara was very, very crowded, especially at night. 90% of the beach was taken up by huts and folding chairs, which detracted from the natural beauty of the beach. I don't think that there would be any other way to accommodate so many people, I'm just saying that if you're looking for a secluded beach spot, this definitely is not it, especially in August.

If you're driving to this hotel, parking might be a little difficult. We were very lucky to get a spot at the parking lot right next door, but I wouldn't count on this!

This hotel served its purpose, and I think if the room was a little bigger, I would have enjoyed it more.

Chose this hotel for location and availabitlity of parking. Located in the center of Pescara across from the beach and one block from the main shopping area. Small but secure parking area. Had a double room facing the Sea and a triple room facing the back. Very good breakfast - expected a small continental breakfast but had a little of everything. Triple room smelled of smoke but cleared after a day or so. Triple also faced another building in the back and the fire exit was right outside the window. Bathrooms are very nice but only a sheer on beach front room so very bright in the morning. Room looked a little dated with red carpeting and wallpaper peeling a little bit but overall was comfortable and had locking closets.

Nice hotel with a very good location on the beach. Rooms are ok, but a bit old. Free Wi-Fi included. Breakfast was ok, but the selection could have been better. Staff was ok. Not the best hotel in the city, but the location and prices makes it a good alternative.

Small rooms, noise from outside, the air condition is controled from recepton desk then if you want to start or close it, you must use the phone or take a walk to the reception and you have no balconies to dry the bath clothes.

Clean towles, pillow cases and new bathroom supply daily. Nice breakfast buffet with selection. Friendly staff. Great location for beatch and shopping. You will need an ear plugg because of the noise from the A/C unit AND do not expect Wi-Fi inn all rooms at all time! Never the less, all in all - good value for money.

The hotel is well located however the service at the front desk by the guy was so rude.We asked him for restaurant recommendations he said eat at the hotel and gave us no options we latter ask one of his co workers who helped us. I had to ask him to changed the reservation for latter and he gave me a dirty look my wife needed help with a phone number again the sam attitude. To top it of he told me that i had to pay for parking for 2 cars of which i only had one this however was corrected.
I was happy that we only stayed one night and i disappointed i stayed there having looked on trip adviser.
