Casa Montana is a small, magical restaurant with a history dating to 1836 tucked away a few streets back from the beach area in Valencia. Don't be put off by the area as what lies within is well worth a trip for lunch. There is a bar area at one end, two cosy tables near the kitchen and several tables at the other end nestled between enormous oak barrels and wine memorabilia. We sat near the wine barrels and enjoyed a delicious range of tapas - try the grilled sardines, broad beans, ham and croquettes. We asked if there was a tasting selection of wines we could order - yes, so we tried some wines from Valencia to Alicante and up to Rioja. Great place - a hidden gem if you enjoy wine and tapas in a relaxed, traditional establishment.
