“Excellent team and hotel facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

We had a fantastic time at Melia Valencia, stayed there for 4 days with my family.
They have a very good gym and spa, which we used every day. The gym is free for the guests, and all equipment is of very good quality. The spa is amazing. There is a small charge (I think it was 12 euros) but that's for the whole day. We left it till our last day when the weather wasn't too great. Also, room service people are very friendly and try to accommodate any request, even outside the menu. The hotel has very spacious rooms, massive really (especially if compared to some other hotels in the city). They are all very modern.
We only ate breakfast at the hotel and room service in the evening, I can recommend both. All was quite satisfactory indeed. The people at reception and guest services / relations are all very friendly and speak good English (which I found very rare in Valencia). It was very easy to get from the hotel to the beach or shopping areas, or the city centre as literally across the road from the hotel there is a taxi stop (there were always taxis there, almost any time of the day). I think there are also public transport stops next to the hotel, but I haven't bothered using those as we were on holidays and opted for the taxis. However, if you are on business in Valencia this hotel could be very good too, as it's about 15 min drive from the airport and even closer to city centre. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back.

Room Tip: We stayed on one of the top floors. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows, so in the evening the p...

We took advantage of a special 30% advance reduction special offered to Melia Rewards Members to book the last three nights of our stay in Valencia here in the northern part of the city. The friendly lady at the reception gave us a room on the 20th floor upon request – if only we had read some of the tips here first, we would’ve asked for a corner room, but still ours had a breathtaking view of the entire city all the way to the Mediterranean.

The room itself was wonderfully large with a charming non-rectangular shape and the kingsize bed had one the best mattress we’ve experienced in any hotel, so we were able to snooze very comfortably. All the other amenities were very high-quality: great flat screen TV, espresso coffee machine, large bathroom with separate shower, toilet, and bathtub areas. You can see that the investor who originally opened this hotel as a Hilton – as the nice front desk clerk informed us about when we asked - was quality-minded.

Now to a possible downside for some: As others have mentioned, this is basically a conference center hotel, within two minutes of Valencia’s Palacio de Congresos, an airy and curvy “palace” designed by Norman Foster, and set in a somewhat swanky residential area built during the last ten years, not far from what will become the new football stadium Nou Mestalla. Those who prefer the old part of town have a five-minute walk to the metro station, where unfortunately the number 1 doesn’t run as often as you might expect or hope. Since Valencia is a relatively small city area-wise in spite of being Spain’s third largest city population-wise, you could even walk from the old city center to the hotel in less than an hour. There are also buses with stops right at the hotel.

What was our biggest disappointment and the reason for our downgrading what should be a top evaluation was the quality of the breakfast - included as part of the special rate - and the food we could order at the bar. The fruits and cheeses weren't fresh any of the three days we ate there, with otherwise poor to average quality buffet and no possiblity for additional cooked-to-order items. Perhaps conference participants don't eat much at the hotel anyway. And while the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious, why wasn't horchata, the local speciality beverage, available? What was also a bit disappointing was the lack of any public space on the top floors. Evidently groups can rent a sort of bar and lounge area that we wandered into by chance on one of the upper floors. If only the Melia Valencia had a superb restaurant on the top floor with the fantastic view the highest builidng in Valencia has to offer...

As a frequent Meliá Hotels guest due to my travelling for business I would like to thank the staff of Meliá Valencia for making any kind of stay such a great experience in their hotel. My opinion is not based on a couple of overnightings but on repeated ones.
Everything is above their 4* category:
- kind and very fast check-in
- superbly and comfortably decorated guest rooms
- excellent breakfast
However, the most important factor is the personal touch their staff and especially Cristina Doro give to all what they do, they really make you feel you are important and welcome. All in all - go and try this hotel out yourself, for me Meliá Valencia is truly one of the best hotels today in its category!

Room Tip: - ask for a corner room in upper floors

I attended the business conference in Melia hotel Congress Center.
I have been to many places before and must admit, that Valencia is one of the best places I have ever been for a business reason. Excellent hotel, spacious congress facilities, friendly people, stunning views from my room over Valencia. What I found the best was the spacious room, calm, no traffic noise. I recommend the visit to Valencia and Hotel Melia also due to airport vicinity, just ten minutes drive. Great place to stay.

Room Tip: one of the top floors

The Meliá Valencia was a great choice for us. The room was huge and clean. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track, a blessing at the end of a day navigating through the throngs of tourists.

No need to sign on for the expensive breakfast as there are many great cafés a short walk away. If you are a walker you find that the location is quite convenient to everything. Transit is also nearby.

If you book through the Meliá website you will receive a10€/day credit for the restaurant/bar.

Excellent location, close to the metro, Palacio de Congresos etc. We did not use the hotel too much but we found it comfortable, the staff friendly and warm and the overall room was functional. Breakfast was standard, leaning towards boring but does it job for providing a pick me up in the mornings before heading out for a day of exploration.

Hotel is not located centrally, however it isn't far from the metro. The breakfasts are worth including in your stay. The gym is equipped for a reasonable workout whilst touring. Hotel staff very helpful. Well worth the stay
