“Beautiful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Great Hotel!
I visited the Hotel for 7 nights this month and had a lovely stay. The hotel is located right by the beach and despite it not having a beach allocation in the public beach (which would be even better) it has really nice views of it and within 1 min walk.
The swimming pool and other areas are very nice too, spacious and clean. The consierge service is very helpful and there are always Taxis outside the hotel and the tram is nearby to get to city centre.
The cleaning service is very good too and we always found our rooms back in pristine conditions after getting back from the pool, the toiletries cover the whole range (comb, toothbrush & toothpaste, shaving kit and all others so you dont need to bring anything with you and the body and hair lotions are Hermes and replaced daily).

I would deffinitely pick this hotel over any other one in the city in Valencia anytime if going back as you can have both a city and a beach holiday by being here.

If i would have to give some feedback to the hotel it would be:
1. The bathrom overall was spacious and nice but the bath itself was dissapointing as its quite small and both the bath and shower are plastic- in other 5 star hotels they are usually marble or other stone or ceramic.
2. The room service and other menus do not have a huge variety. Also more complementary thinks in the room should be there.
3. The pool bar staff should be more attentive and maybe sometime ask if guest want to drink anything.
4. At the reception on check-in i observed a few instances where the receptionist was a bit rude about getting the passport photocopies almost making the guest feel like they are gonna run off without paying (which im sure its a possibility but can be done more politely).

Stayed 5 nights at this hotel towards the end of June.
The hotel is almost certainly the best in Valencia and is a 10 euro taxi ride from the city centre. Overlooking the beach (mainly locals on the beach) with excellent cycle routes into the city centre and surrounding areas.
The hotel is of the highest quality and the food was very good too; albeit expensive and not a great deal of choice. Best to eat out we found; but we struggled to find quality food that wasn't expensive. Lots of places to eat in the city, but the food wasn't always that great.
Valencia is a lovely city though and I particularly like the good provision for cyclists and we found the large indoor food market quite an experience.

Room Tip: The best rooms facing the sea; but expensive.

My husband booked this lovely hotel for my birthday.

Positive:
Staff are very nice, the view is beautiful. Breakfast is perfect.

Location a bit away from town but across from the beach.

Could be improved:
Spa is not included.

The hotel doesn't have part of the beach and doesn't have any special agreements with the private owner of the beach area.

The hotel is huge and feels a bit empty deprived of colour on the cold side.

Having said all that, we had a lovely and peaceful little break.

Dear guest,

First of all, I wish to thank you for visiting us in such a special day , and thak you for sharing your comments.

We appreciate your comments and that your experience was positive.

Refering the beach area, it a public beach so we can not have a private area on it. We are working on it, and we hope to improve this situation.

Thank you again for your words about our team. We look forward to serving you in the future.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

We arrived at the hotel before our room was ready, but went to reception to let them know we were there and to leave our bags. When we returned to check-in after having a wander down to the beach, we immediately encountered difficulties with the reception staff who spoke very little English (surprising for a 5* hotel). The lady who checked us in was insistent on taking a copy of our passports, I handed mine over but my partner had his in his luggage which we explained was left with the concierge. We said we would bring it back down once we had unpacked, but she wasn't happy about this at all. Eventually she agreed with a proviso that we were given a temporary wifi code to use in the hotel until we came back with the other passport, where we would be given a new code for our room.

When we got to the room there was no sign of our luggage. I had assumed they would have taken it to the room for us as they were holding it for us until the room was ready. My partner went back down to reception to request it and show his passport. He was then given the same wifi code as before, so we couldn't understand what this was all about? Maybe this has something to do with why the wifi was so temperamental during our stay (it seemed too complicated to enquire so made do).

When we got back to the room I was surprised not to receive any kind of welcome from the hotel. Usually there is a card with the guests name on the bed or table with a welcome message and some fresh fruit, flowers or chocolate. There was only a complimentary bottle of water which was not replaced during our entire stay. There was a turn down service where some pretty naff, generic chocolates were left along with (sometimes) a flyer with the next days’ weather and suggested things to do. This wasn’t consistent though as I think this flyer was only left 2/3 times over 7 nights in the hotel.

It quickly became apparent that we had a problem with the location of our room in the hotel as there was a persistent and horrendous noise which we quickly realised was the lift near to the room - it sounded like it was in desperate need of a service. After the first night it became unbearable, waking us up throughout the whole night and we were booked to stay for 7 nights at the hotel. The next day we went back down to reception to notify them of the problem, again we had issues with the language barrier however managed to explain our concerns. We were told that the hotel was full, but if we came back 2 days later they may be able to move us to another room.

We made use of the pool area every day and again found it really unusual that no one was asking us if we wanted to order drinks, food etc. We were on holiday so would have happily paid for cocktails, water and food by the poolside. When we realised it was so hard to spend our money here too, we bought water and snacks from the shop outside the front of the hotel and took them to the pool with us.

Although breakfast / meals were not included in our package, we had decided to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel a few times during our stay. Unfortunately this was made very difficult due to the terrible staff. Our first attempt was to order some drinks after returning from dinner in one of the beach restaurants. We sat down outside and waited for someone to take our order. After 20-30 minutes a waiter eventually acknowledged us and said he would come back to us. We waited a further 15-20 minutes and still he had not returned. We decided to leave it and go back to the room as they must have been busy. The next evening we ate out again and when returning to the hotel decided to try again but the same thing happened. We sat and watched busy waiters literally running back and forth past us but no acknowledgement. My partner eventually got the attention of someone who just like the previous evening left us waiting, but he did come back after maybe a further 10-15 minutes. This time we managed to order some drinks and dessert.

A couple of days later we had a big lunch during the day and felt tired so just wanted to order a burger and a club sandwich in the outside lounge area. We sat for an hour and were completely ignored, until we got a waiter’s attention. He told us we couldn’t sit outside to eat from the snack menu and that we had to eat in the restaurant. I must admit that I found this pretty odd as I have eaten in many 5* hotels in their bar / lounge areas when ordering a casual meal. We complied with the request and headed towards the restaurant where we stood aimlessly in the middle of the diners. We were then ushered in doors by a waiter who said that we couldn’t sit in the main restaurant as all of the tables were reserved. This was around 10pm with many tables vacant so we did find this a little strange and at this point began to wonder if the staff were actually being a little rude towards us. I said that I appreciated we maybe weren’t dressed for the restaurant, but we just wanted to have a burger outside. The waiter pointed us indoors and in to an enormous, freezing cold air conditioned room filled with empty tables and chairs, and explained that this is where we would have to eat if we wanted something from the snack menu. Again, we did as we were told and sat down waiting for someone to come with a menu or maybe offer some drinks. We sat and waited, and waited but still no one came. At this point we were feeling very frustrated so got up, left and headed back to one of the restaurants on the beach where we ordered dinner and wine.

We wanted to book a table in the restaurant, eat by the pool and have breakfast at the hotel but after the experiences we had so far, we decided just not to bother and to spend our money elsewhere. On the final night, we had to be up early for our flight the next morning. Despite the terrible service we had encountered with every attempt at this hotel, we went back to the outside lounge area to order a drink. One of the revolving doors was broken and as I went in to the hotel to use the toilet, there was a waiter pushing it as it slowly moved around. We looked at each other, I made a joke and he was already laughing and had a great charisma. Finally for the first time and on our 7th night I felt like I had a warm and friendly interaction with a member of staff. I sat down still giggling as he made me smile and soon afterwards the same waiter attended to us to take our order. He spoke English, was efficient, friendly and attentive. He was the only staff member who had been this way during our entire stay! We asked his name, which was ‘Christobel’. Thank goodness for Christobal, what a credit to the hotel. If the rest of the staff were to his standard it would have been a truly exceptional and pleasurable stay.

I have to mention that despite the troubles we had experienced, the hotel reception area, outside restaurant / lounge area and pool were fantastic. The location of the hotel is also excellent. It is situated literally on the beach and within walking distance from the harbour, lots of bars / restaurants , the city of arts and sciences and a very handy tram service pretty much outside.
We had a general feeling that the hotel was a little complacent or maybe only attending to their ‘special’ guests.

We may have been on a room only rate, but we had intended to buy food, drinks and spa treatments there. It just seemed so difficult to spend your money - a very different experience from every other 5* hotel I’ve ever stayed in globally!

We stayed for 7 nights mid June with our daughter (23yrs) and had a wonderful time. The hotel is spotless, rooms & common areas, and the staff are helpful, charming and professional. We used the bar and restaurant and found them both faultless even though it did get very busy at the weekend. The hotel is perfectly situated for the beach and is just ten minutes drive into the heart of Valencia. It definitely deserves it's five stars in our opinion!

The location of this hotel is simply awesome if you want to stay on the beach or try Valencian food in the big variety of restaurants on the shore. It is also called first line, so you need just 1 minute to be around the beach. The hotel looks new outside and inside, rooms are very clean and quiet. We live in superior room on the 4th floor with the view on the sea. The view is stunning, except docks on the right side (but they don’t disturb at all). The room was spacious, with all facilities we needed and free non-alcoholic bar. Wi-Fi was good, but not as fast as lobby. Interesting thing, but you can connect to the hotel’s wi-fi hotspot in the beach. There are two pools on the territory, one for kids and another for adults. I didn’t try breakfast, but I read that it is excellent. So, it is the real five star hotel. We also took a cab to the city center, it was about €12-14 or about 1 hour walk. So I truly recommend this hotel for the families or the couples (also with kids). PS It is one of the places in Valencia, where the staff can communicate with you in english :)

Room Tip: I recommend to book a room on the 4rd floor (it's executive rooms or something like that). In th...

Stayed here with family early June for three nights. Would highly recommend this hotel and Valencia as a destination for a short break. The hotel is right on the beach, which is a great long beach for walking/running and views. The hotel is beautiful and the staff very helpful. We had lovely rooms with fantastic sea views. It was a special birthday occasion within our family whilst away and having been in contact with the hotel previous to our arrival they very kindly gave us a bottle of cava on the day to celebrate and brought it to the room. This was very generous and we were very grateful. The hotel is easily accessible on the tram from the airport.
The hotel staff speak great English, and are very helpful.
The breakfast is a wide selection of food, and lovely to be able to eat outside.
The food in the hotel is expensive, including at the pool snack bar. There are little shops a few steps outside of the hotel where you can get drinks and water and snacks, and on the beach.
We didn't eat in the hotel at night, but we would not recommend restuarants on the sea front. Very touristy and not good food (from our experience). However, we found a wonderful tapas restaurant called casa Montana about 15 mins walk away and ate here two nights. The food was amazing, and great value.
Other feedback for the hotel, the hairdryer cut out every 2 mins, presumably over heating. Slightly annoying when trying to dry hair, but very minor issue!
Great hotel, great location, great staff - highly recommend.
