“A very nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

We had lunch in this restaurant on a sunday afternoon. The restaurant is situated nicely next to Malvorrosa beach.

When we arrive at 13:30 the restaurant was already completely full with mostly Spaniards (I think they have around 150-200 seatings). From that moment we had no doubt that we would have a very good meal here and we didn't got disappointed :-)

The restaurantbuilding is really lovely, has a nice warm Spanish interior and you can even take a look into kitchen and see how the chefs make your paella. They have a ample menu with tapas, marisco's and ofcourse Paella. In general all the food was good, but their paella was very good and the best we had eaten in Valencia. The rice was soft and not burned onto the pan. However it was a little bit too salt or else I would given a 5 point valuation.

The waiters were friendly and quickly.

This restaurant is really worth visiting !

Fabulous atmosphere and lovely staff. Went into the kitchen to see the paella cooking on a huge wood stove. Lovely day

“nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

on entering sneered at by guy behind the counter. all the other staff were very pleasant. had paella marinera and a salad with a bottle of wine. bill came to 70 euros. It was all ok nothing amazing for the price. wish we had gone for the fish as a main. the paella was very expensive for what it was. our waiter was nice and the wine was good. the restaurant is lovely very traditional. we sat in the court yard which was very nice. just wouldnt bother with the paella if we went back.

“Excellent restaurant and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

We were happy to have the last table in this nice restaurant where we passed by. For starters we had really great selection of grilled vegetables. Excellent white wine Verdil from Fontanars. Whilst being in valencia on our first day, we asked for Paella. Never knew valencian paella to have a nice crust. Excellent taste! We finished with carmel fluff and coffee. Service very nice. Staff and especially our waitress did all to make this an excellent first day.

“Incredible paella”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I went here because a local suggested it to me and I definitely wasn't disappointed! I've been living in Valencia for 2 months now, and I can honestly say that this is the best paella I have ever eaten. It was so good that I was still thinking about it for days after. Casa Carmela is a little on the expensive side, but if you want some really great paella it's well worth the money. If you want the Valencian paella you should call ahead as it takes over an hour to cook it. Also, the staff do not speak English, so if your Spanish is very limited then this might not be the place for you.
