“Simply wonderful....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

I have been to many Michelin star restaurants in my life time and this restaurant is up there with the best, not only for the food but the experience, the presentation and the inventiveness of the food, the ideas that the Chef has used and it is UNBELIEVABLE value for money for 9 courses at £42.00 Euros. From start to finish the meal was a pleasure and if you go to Valencia, anywhere near Valencia or in-fact Spain you MUST visit this restaurant.

Fantastic visit and will be going back to Valencia just to go to this restaurant again.

“A breath of fresh air.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

How nice to eat something completely different for a change. This restaurant is well worth a visit. You will receive excellent and pleasant service and some delightful hits on your taste buds and your eyes. Every dish is presented like a piece of art and every dish is pure and fresh food.

We had the 42 Euro Degustation Menu which, if I remember correctly, consisted of a cappuccino of peas, a three-dish medley of tomato, parmesan crumbs and a radicio sorbet, a salad of various sprouts and baby leaves with a superb dressing, followed by an amazing spinach fondue in a small pot into which you placed different pieces of bread or potato to bring up the mushy/cheesey/spinachy stuff inside. After that we were served a glass filled with shellfish broth in which was placed a prawn and on top of which was a sheet of rice paper with something wriggling which was a vegetable and not alive, but wriggled with the heat of the broth. Following this we were served a fish dish and then a meat dish. Dessert was made up of a plant pot (yes a plant pot) filled with three kinds of chocolate and various natural flavours, such as cardamom and ginger. All this accompanied by a very reasonable rose wine (Merlot) from the Navarra region and we were happy.

We do not have adventurous cooks in our part of the world, you tend to find them more in the US/Canada/Australia. We can only hope that this young and enthusiastic chef (who speaks good English) becomes more and more successful because he deserves it.

There is only one thing to do when you are in Valencia, go there and eat! I love creative and modern fusion food and can truly say that this chef can compete on an international level. We took the menu with 6 dishes which gives a wonderful overview of what the chef is capable of. All dishes are wonderfully presented and tasty. All is about the product quality in this place. Nearly all ingredients are grown in their own hacienda in the outskirts of Valencia, everything is biological including the wines. You can discover grains, seeds, ingredients that have long been forgotten but reanimated beautifully. There is a vision, the product and a very talented chef, so no reason to miss out this restaurant.

“Encounter with A Genius!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

Hello to the Chef and nice Waitress! We still remember that great evening and adventure to the Unknown... ;)

We came there 3 of us, wife, me and our 2 yo son, who did not enjoyed the meal except bread, but was tapping into his iPad games and let us enjoy to the fullest...

Restaurant has minimalistic setting with big posters with panoramas of the places where the Restaurant Kiaro grows some of thei produce. It is always pleasant to know that the restaurant takes care of all product lifecycle from farming it to cookign and serving...

So, we arrived there just because we found that place in Tripadvisor and had no expectation (except that it would be something unusual because we saw some of the photos of their food on their site).

We tried to make a reservation, failed then got a call back from the restaurant telling that we have a place reserved for 20:30, was very nice of them to call us back.

When we sat, waitress explained that they do not have a usual menu, but have seasonal set of dishes to the discretion of the Chef that consists of 1 apperitive, 3 starters, 1 main and 1 dessert. She also recommended us one of the best White wines I ever tasted ;)

An then it started... Our eyes just got bigger and bigger seeing the art of preparation of the food and our heads were all puzzled to understand HOW they can combine such great tastes to create something not yet Experienced i at all!

Yes.. it was all about experiecing and living through completely new things... We just did not want it to end as it was like in childhood, when you are surprised with anything that comes in... and there we really experienved that amazement and happiness again.

Thank you again! Look forward to see you there next time we will be at VLC!

And another surprize was when we learned it was only EUR 25 per person ;) I thought it would cost at least at least double.

Enjoy!

“#1 restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We went in Kiaora two weeks ago, in our last valencian night during that trip, and were so astonished that decided to write a review of that very-very-very special place. Completely exclusive cuisine: creative look and outstanding taste. But the price! We couldn't believe that 1 apperitive of pea capuccino, 3 entrantes, 1 main course and a dessert costs 25 Euro. I hope they will rise the price, because I would pay 50 euro minimum for the offer.
Specially I want to recommend to taste green wine and coffee con leche- its outstanding...I don't know how, but they created a magic of taste here!
