Yelel must be the best in Valencia, the food comes from the mountains and is excellent, it is great place and near the city main streets so very easy to find. So walk there and have a great meal and enjoy Yelel and his art of cooking.

“The best value lunch in Valencia!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Wow! The restaurant was empty, but I was made to feel welcome and the chef came out to apologise for there only being one set menu available. This was perfect to me as I hate to make decisions. To start I had fresh strawberry gazpacho, followed by a salad of warmed potatoes with clams, wasabi and flowers, then it was curried fish served on griddled vegetables with a spice dust and for pud: helado with coffee sauce and spices. The meal was experimental, unusual, delicious and all explained by the cheery chef. With a couple of glasses of white wine it came to 16e; exceptional value. I would return faster than Usain Bolt on route to McDonalds to pick up nuggets before closing.

“A nice discovery.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

I have been there because it was suggested by TA. At the beginning the empty room scared me a little and the fact that there are only 2 choices of full menus as well. At the end, a nice discovery that I would put on the top 5 restaurant of my personal hit parade of 2012. 3 or 4 starters, 1 or 2 main dishes, 1 desert. The italian cook has been living in many cities around the world before landing in Valencia. His personal view of cooking goes from extremely minimal tastes to very elaborated plates, always with a touch of well dosed molecular cuisine. A must, for the price.

“Flavour, Passion, Artistic Ability, Service all Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

It is hard to articulate how much we enjoyed this restaurant. The young chef is half Italian/half Spanish and owns a farm about 100 kms from Valencia where he sources practically all of the vegetables/herbs etc. It was such good value, a six course tasting menu for €25 (all courses fantastically designed and cooked and presented with such creativity).

The chef combined not only technical but also artistic ability all confidently served up along with superb service and a really friendly vibe from everyone working in the restaurant. The food is all organic, the salad had 25 different varieties of salad ,flowers and herbs and was absolutely spectacular. Fish served with sea asparagus, spirulina and seawater broth was probably the nicest fish dish I have ever tasted. Dessert with chocolate served in a terracotta pot was also my wife and daughters favourite . The wine suggested by the chef was a perfect match for the food. Cannot imagine how it would be possible to surpass this as a dining experience.

The restaurant is decorated in a really cool but relaxing way. Can’t praise the chef highly enough, if this was in Dublin he would make a fortune because he is a genius. Would be the first place I head for on my next visit to Valencia. Only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the old town- you should take a detour to this incredible restaurant.

“Spectacular food, bargain price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Ok, so we went on a very quiet Tuesday but €90 got for two people, 8 courses of amazing gourmet creations plus coffee, a bottle of specially chosen white, two glasses of red for the lamb and table service in English from the chef. Not one complaint from us, and then we discovered it was all locally sourced and bio to boot. If you visit Valencia, visit here, full stop!
