“Gorgeous setting for a cool horchata”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

The essence of Spain: Authentic horchata and fartons artesanos. Fartons are baton-shaped biscuits that can be eaten alone or dipped in your horchata. Come in from the heat of the cathedral plaza and enjoy the coolness of the antique interior decorated with pretty Spanish tile. There are tables for two, as well as tables large enough to accommodate a group of 5-6. It was clear that kids are big fans of horchata. We will definitely be back before we leave Valencia, and I will miss this delightful horchateria when we return to California. Highly recommended!!!

“There is no such thing anywhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We were there with friends and we felt exactly the climate of eastern Spain. Here serve excellent chocolate, coffee, but also something typical of the Valencia- Horchata de Chufa. We were delighted with a unique and unparalleled anywhere else flavored drink that supposedly right here is the best in the entire Valencia. I never would have thought that a drink with ground almonds can be this good and thirst quenching. Best course in the summer, when they serve it cold.

“sweet tooth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We came for an authentic experience and we got it. It was in a original place in beautiful the old city centre: The fartons and horcahta as locols do was excellent despite being quite sweet, but loved the combination! Do what locals do and head down here for a afternoon tea break

“Lovely building, good coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

In Valencia for one day only and popped into this beautifully maintained establishment for a quick coffee. We were also tempted to try a farton each to accompany the coffee. These were very tasty, and very cheap. It was only afterwards we discovered that rather than have the coffees, which were very good, we should have tried horchata instead. Ah well, it looks as though we missed out on something here.

“Essential part of any visit to Valencia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

If you want to have a horchata (and you really should: it's a tasty, refreshing drink) then this classic, tiled horchateria in the centre of Valencia fits the bill very nicely. It's become the must do thing whenever I'm in the city. I love horchata (why can't we buy it in the UK!) and while it is seasonal, the Horchateria Santa Catalina has it available all year, served in a glass, accompanied by the brilliantly named fartons (small, sugar-covered pastry fingers which you dip in to your drink). It's popular with tourist groups and locals alike and deservedly so.
