“Authentic, Modern Basque Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This restaurant offers the best of traditional Basque cuisine and dining culture with a modern, stylish twist. It's part of a high-quality chain in Spain's three major cities and in Buenos Aires. Having lived in the Basque Country, my expectations were high and we weren't let down. The service was excellent and attentive, and all the key elements of the Guipuzkoan sidrería (cider house) experience where there: free hard cider freshly tapped from the keg, yummy sparkling txakolí, salted cod omelette, spicy fried txistorra sausages, and the main event: the chuletón (rib-eye on the bone, I believe), which is traditionally eaten rare. We followed it up with the traditional shelled walnuts and cheese dessert. Make life easy on yourself and order one of the two fixed menus to get the full-on, authentic experience. If you're in the mood for a snack and a drink, then the tapas bar downstairs is a great place to try Basque "pintxos". All in all a lovely experience that we will repeat next time we're in Valencia!

“a special place in Valencia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

While strolling in the centre of Valencia we had a stop in this restaurant. Here you can find typical Spanish cuisine in a nice tavern atmosphere, we noticed also on the counter a lots of different tapas, a lot of choice, all of them very tasty!

“Heaven- bite sized!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Me and my father walked in, hooked by the lovely looking rows and rows of tapas. So beautiful. truly. We took a plate and took 4 pieces. Each one was more spectacular than the other.
Go here and enjoy a lovely Valencia tapas experience on your way to the market.

“Fun atmosphere, many choices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

The place was packed at lunch with many locals and some tourists. You go up to the bar and select your tapas, take your plate to your table and enjoy. A few additional hot items came out from the kitchen and were passed by the server. When finished, your server counts up the toothpicks and presents your bill. Each item was 1.85 euro. We had a good bottle of house wine for 14 euro. A lively place, great location for a meal while you are out sightseeing in the heart of old town.

“Give it a try”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

A take on Basque Pintxos - Basically open sandwiches with a coctail stick in them.
They have all the choices laid out around the bar. You ask for a plate, order your drinks and help yourselves. Then when you have finished you take your plate to the bar with your coctail sticks and pay per stick (per item). You will probably see a lot of things you do not have an idea what they are so ask. Or just try them. I do and I have not had anything horrible! A good place to stop and grab a drink and a snack.
They also have a basque restaurant upstairs which is open on the evenings. The menu is meat and fish heavy so I have not had the pleasure of trying as my wife is vegetarian and there is no dish for her.
