“Good for Rating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2009

Just returned from two weeks at this Hotel and found it perfectly adequate for my needs.I found the Staff friendly, with the exception of the Restaurant Manager who was very moody!
Luckily it was fairly quiet at this time of year, although I would imagine it would be pretty hectic later on in the season. As I lived in Torrevieja twenty years ago I was horrified by the overbuilding that has taken place,at that time the Hotel stood alone in it'[s own grounds with just the Camp ground opposite, now it is a concrete jungle.

We stayed from February 21 to 28 2009. Extra was paid for a superior room(no balcony)
Location is dominant, on a rise, 4.7km south of Torrevieja on the N332 road to Cartagena. Parking was no problem in the streets surrounding it(could be different in Summer when the apartment blocks are occupied) The area is residential apartment blocks, with a good selection of restaraunts and bars close by.
The room was on the fourth floor, facing Torrevieja, across open ground. Traffic noise was not a problem, as long as the window was shut! A nice touch was individual air conditioning/heating units, which were available all the time. The bathroom floor had been re-tiled, which left a low step to trip over, if not careful! Maid service was daily and everywhere was very clean, throughout the hotel.
We were half board and found the food selection acceptable, except that the hot food was served warm or cold! Only cold plates were available and the hot area of the buffet counter was incapable of keeping anything hot! One of the waiters brought in a dish of hot food, holding it with his hand under the dish, so it does not leave the kitchen hot to start with! The dining room is pleasant, but you have to clear your table and sort the items onto a trolley.
This is a Spanish Hotel, run for the Spanish. Most of the residents were construction workers, who had their own section to eat in. A large party of Spanish children arrived on the Friday. Most notices are in Spanish and reception had only basic English.
There are prostitutes working the roundabout nearby, but there are also more on other junctions in the area(even advertising in a weekly paper! )
The location is very handy for exploring the coast both ways and the Torrevieja by-pass starts nearby. We drank in one of the local bars, cheaper than the Hotel.
TIP If on the Motorway from Alicante, come off at Torrevieja North to miss the toll charges, which only apply for 3 sections round Torrevieja on the AP 7.

As the title says this hotel is cheap and nasty. That said you get what you pay for folks. We visited Nov 08 and the hotel served the purpose. Do not pay for a "very" cheap hotel then start complaining that its not the Ritz. The hotel was clean and tidy but obviously geared towards the Spanish travellers. People complain about the food on holiday as a matter of course (pun intended) but there's always something for the not too fussy eater. If you want a cheap hotel to explore the area and lay your head at night, this will do the job.

Well what can i say, We were due to stay in this hotel for 2 weeks , When we arrived we wernt given the room we asked for and had to pay a supplement to get it, We were wondering why the air con and tv (all spanish tv)wasnt working , Untill the desk clerk gave us the remote controls 2 days later, We had finished our tour after around 3 days because there really wasnt that much in the area - except for maybe 5 or 6 bars and a few resteraunts all in a line by the dual carriageway, We later found out that the area has the highest crime rate on the east coast, which was nice, On the forth day we had had enough and the thing that really made our mind up was watching the ladies of the night on the roundabout going about their business from our balcony, the night club situated under the hotel did start till around 2 am and went on till 7am where you were woken by shouting and bottle throwing contests, We would NEVER visit there again, on the fith day we got into outr car and arranged tostay in a hotel in benidorm, a lot happier ending to our holiday

Having stayed here a few times in the past, I expected a similar standard. However, although the rooms (bedroom and sitting room) were large, they were pretty rundown. as was the rest of the hotel. The soft furnishings were really pretty shabby and in some places torn. The bathroom was clean, but the hairdryer was broken, and the towels were thin, small, and worn.

The breakfast was pretty boring, there was no fruit, apart from fresh oranges, and the cooked food was pretty unappetising meats or deep fried eggs. Bread was either 'pan de molde' or pieces of barra. which one could toast. The coffee machine often broke down, and the fruit juices were watery. The waitresses were pretty surly.

Although the hotel staff were friendly enough, a couple were incompetent beyond belief.

In addition there were continuous visiting tour groups of noisy and aggressive elderly people.

We had a room above the front, where the hotel Disco was situated. The music was not a disturbance, but the drunken exiting at 4.00 am woke us up three nights running.

The Pool area only gets the sun for half a day due to its location below an adjacent high rise block, and is badly in need of cleaning

Overall impression - has seen better days and is desperately in need of a total refurbishment.

Food wasn't great (it was very Spanish which didn't put me off, but the equivalent here (in my view) might be the "traditional british food" you get in Brewers Fayre).

Staff were helpful and room was comfortable and clean.

BIG PLUS IN MY VIEW WAS THAT THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT.

Beaches nearby were small and quiet. Enough local restaurants and shops to make it a pleasant, relaxed experience. Pool was in the shade, but that might be a bonus in summer months.

Good spot for travelling up and down the coast and inland.

I would go back. But maybe not on full board.

I booked for 4 nights Sunday to Thursday B& B., I went past the hotel 5 times in a hire car- There are NO visible signs that it is a Hotel - NO Name is shown on the outside. The rooms are adequete, the bed matras is like being on concrete. The breakfast is barely warm- therefore in my opinion NOT eatable, unless you want a 'Spanish Tummy' The Hotel is by far NOT worthy of 3*** its more like a 1* In most of the area- YOU do need a car- it is very reasonble to hire for the week, and the roads are very easy to drive on the right side. I CHECKED out after 48 hours to find an other hotel. I went to Gaurdamar even though I had business around the Villamartin area- What a differnce in the Parquemar Hotel 4**** excellent service and quality of the rooms and the food was HOT- It cost an extra 5Euros per night - NO COMPARISON, and the bathroom had all the accessories[Shampoos etc] the Torrejovan had nothing?
My advise is DO NOT USE THIS DUMP of a Hotel.
