I've been coming to this restaurant for 16 years and it forms one of three essential eateries when visiting Torrevieja (El Muelle and Bahia being the other two).
Noted for its fish, El Muelle is centrally located, ideally situated for the main underground car park. Tables can be had outside, usually without booking, and in the winter months gas burners are provided. Great for people watching. Alternatively eat inside:tables are spacious.
Being creatures of habit, we tend to go for the 'del dia' which is available at all times. It is NOT one of these cheap options where you receive basic options but a tasty experience.
The del dia starts with a mixed salad and a huge plate of fried sea food (remember to ask for some alioli). Following this is a sea food paella which is cooked to perfection and served at your table. There is a choice of red, white or rose wine (a bottle for 2 people) which is of a decent quality. Finally, if you've still room, you can have a dessert although we just go for the cafe con leche as we're too stuffed at this point. For 20 euros plus tax per person this is a steal.
The waiters are attentive and friendly and in sixteen years we've never had a bad dinner here, even when ordering al la carte.
This is a family run establishment and three generations of the family can usually be found on most evenings, with the original founder always in attendance.
