“Jac & Glyn Epping - great food and friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

we have been visiting Barbara's for many years. We have always received a warm and friendly welcome. The food is great - ideal if you like tapas, with an interesting range of dishes - the pear and goats' cheese is to die for!
Great ambience with candles and fresh flowers on the tables.
Always on our list of favourite restaurants to visit in Calpe!

“We always visit Barbara's Tapas Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Besides visiting Barbara's every time we come to Calpe we chose to spend New Year's Eve there. As always the food there was of an excellent standard. We were able to pace the selection of tapas throughout the evening. We started with the starter type dishes stuffed mushrooms and courgettes finishing with slow cooked lamb. One of the best dishes on the menu is Black pudding cooked with chick peas. We always have a warm welcome from the hosts Barbara and Thomas who make every effort to ensure we have an enjoyable time. There is always a good mix of all nationalities which creates a very friendly atmosphere.

“We always visit Barbara's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

We eat here on every visit to our holiday home, so at least five times a year. Consistently perfect food, drink and service. The draught beer is especially good as it actually has a taste, unlike so many bland lagers. The house red goes down a treat too.
In winter it is always warm and welcoming and somehow fresh flowers are on every table. Marvellous

“German Food and Tapas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Lovely little restaurant in the old town of Calpe. The owner is wonderfully cheery and she is totally focussed on service and value. The Tapas here are the best we have had in Spain. They are big and they are delicious. The combination of an exceedingly good tapas menu with great German deserts is wonderful. Try the traditional German cheese cake which is literally a cake with cheese in it, it is fabulous. The portions are very large and you may want to share it then when you taste it you may change your mind and order more. Excellent value. It has a lot of antique musical instruments and some unique artwork. Hard to beat on value. Its difficult to find but not far for the Church and Museum.

Enjoyed the tapas had a jug a sangria which was 16€ found this extremely expensive, especially when the sangria didn't have the kick to it.
