“Excellent hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2011

Hotel was excellent, the nicest looking hotel that we saw in Benidorm. Great choice of food. The only winge we would have is that the food could have been hotter at times, but overall the food was very good. Room was spacious and cleaned daily. There is a large pool area and it is a great sun trap from morning till early evening. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk from the beach and in a nice quiet location. No complaints, would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

Hotel is situated approximately 300yds up a slight hill past the Benidorm Palace and is about the right distance away from the centre of town to be noise frr on a night. The rooms are very nice, all have a fridge/minibar which contains some quite expensive items and more than one was way out of date. The balconies are quite large and there was plenty of cupboard/drawer space. The safety depsit box is opened by a code and costs 2 euro/day plus 5 euros deposit. The restaurant was fairly normal hotel fare. Everything was well cooked and we could always find something to suit our taste. The bar/reception area is massive and the bar prices were reasonable, not the 1 euro a pint you could pay in Benidorm but not bad as far as hotels go. The hotel staff were fine and special mention for the restaurant waiters and the bar-staff who were really on the ball. Overall no complaints about the hotel. The town of Benidorm however........will leave that for a different review

Last minute booking and couldn`t have chosen better. Away from high rise buildings. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Good variety of food, (could have been hotter), friendly staff. Overrun with spaniards on weekends, (but you are in spain after all). Entertainment a bit juvenile, ( Jose does try hard). All in all nice relaxing break. Would visit again.

Having only booked this break 2 weeks before we went, we only booked based on brochure information and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and great with kids. The premises were clean, The bedrooms were spacious and cleaned daily. We had no problems with the food. There was plenty of choice every day at both breakfast and evening meal. Sometimes too much choice. The leisure facilities were good for adults and children, a good gym (no charge), spa (payable on use), 2 warm indoor pools and a big outdoor pool. There were indoor and outdoor play areas for younger children. The bus service is good and reasonably priced and trams are cheap as well. The hotel was well situated for us - we didn't want to be in the heart of the town amongst the high rise buildings and the walk to the beach, approx 20 mins with 2 young children, was good exercise. There were extensive british owned bars, which we didn't visit as the hotel has everything we needed. We would stay at this hotel again but didn't like the built up areas of Benidorm.

enormous choice of food, good quality produce on hot range, but ruined by overcooking. Staff at all levels excellent, entertainment spasmodic ( but it was out of season). position of hotel -, buy Bonobus pass then distance from sea immaterial.

Well we were looking forward to this break as a double birthday quick getaway and expected more from this hotel than it has to offer. We read some of the other reviews before we travelled and had researched it as with all our holidays before we booked it, needless to say it is more like a "local residents of spain weekend getaway" or "city break style hotel" more than a holiday resort hotel.

Check in was swift and the staff were helpful and friendly, some people had to wait for an hour to check into their rooms from an early morning flight, but as with most hotels in Benidorm, check in time can be from around 2pm, and some of the rooms may not be ready, but ours was, not that it would have made much difference to us as there is a bar right next to reception, and a nice area to sit outside if its warm and sunny.

There are lifts to all floors. 4 Blocks and only one that appears to look over the pool.
If you do stay here, ask for a quiet room, as the one we had was in the middle of the block, no view and facing other balconies, it also looked down onto a central outdoor area surrounded by four walls and the noise from the live shows and people outside chatting, laughing etc was annoying at 11pm when you are trying to sleep.

The beds in the room are standard twin beds, with a pull out sofa-bed/make up single bed which was probably more comfortable than the adults beds. When you get to this hotel, order more pillows for your room immediately, they are wierd long thin pillows, and I had the worst sleep for the first couple of nights trying to fold them over to mnake good of what we had.

Maid service is adequate, the cleaning could have been better, I only think they brushed the floors instead of mopping them as well each day, which we would have thought normal for any 4* hotel. Bins were emptied, and bathroom products re-stocked daily with turndown service for your beds.

As we already knew the location was not as good as some of the other hotels in the area, but it wasn't a hinderance, its a 10 minute walk to Av.Meditteraneo which is the main road through the centre of Benidorm. 5 Minutes north of the Benidorm Palace which is opposite the Meditteraneo Hotel, also a 4*, wish we had stayed there or at the Levante Club (4*).

Food. Well, this is where it all wen't wrong. I must say that they did try to make the most of the starters and deserts, there was sufficient choice but some days it didn't look to appealing. The rolls which should have been fresh, were getting a little hard on some days and there was no variation in Bread at all. I would have expected more, and my partner tried the cereals which were stale. My son didn't even try the chocolate balls, which he normally won't stop eating. The Continental selection was good, but thats not hard to do anyway as mainly cold dishes, but there was a microwave for the croissants! Hot breakfast wasn't too bad, but the beans are like eating bullets and the scrambled egg is awful - avoid at all costs! I mainly had toast, fried eggs - there wasn't any boiled or poached eggs which I thought was odd? Sausage (various) and bacon was available, but not English back bacon which was a shame. Coffee, Espresso, Tea and Juice is available at Breakfast only. The evening meals is where the main problem lies. The Ban-Marie was not kept hot enough, I don't think the water section was topped up at all, they just had a few heat lights on, and meats were kept on metal plates to the side of where they were cooked, but not under heat! Very strange. It was mainly beef, chicken, rice, pasta, lasagne, 2 or 3 veg, chips and occasionaly bolied or roasted potatoes which were just about eddible. Drink prices are quite good/standard as you would expect, say 2EUR for a beer/cola/water. 1.60EUR for a glass of wine, 10 EUR for a bottle.

We never stayed in for the entertainment, mainly cabaret, but it's not our thing anyway. It was more aimed for the Spanish Clientel anyway. Out of the resort, the beach bars are nice, if you head down to the Levante Promenade, then go to "Weatherspoons - El Puerto", excellent service, really clean and tidy, only been opened 9 days, good drink offers, but we mainly drink international brands which were reasonably prices. Entertainment in the form of Caberet all afternoon, with English music in between. Pool table, a beautiful sun-trap terrace to watch the world go by on their zimmer frames and directly overlooking the rest of the Levante Beach and opposite the kiddies play area on the beach too.

All in all Benidorm is Benidorm, Mainly older clientel, Lads and Lasses on Stag and Hen doo's, typical Brit Abroad holiday, and if you like all that great, but there are far better places to go, far, far better! We are well travelled and would have to say that that is our first and last visit to this area of Spain - try Costa Del Sol instead, have gone back there more times and it is far better/classier.

PS The Euro Exchange rate is around 8 Cents lower than outside of the hotel, and there are hundreds of places were you can change money, however, on the day we left it was 1.155 in the UK on the High Street (over £500) and out there it is exactly the same. It also changed daily just like in the UK, so don't be fooled by people telling you it is a better rate out there, it is the same on a day to day basis!

Would we reccomend this hotel? No. Try somewhere else, especially if you like you food and smart accommodation like us. Were not stuck up, but when we see a good deal we book it, but at the same time, we would pay more for a holiday but reading the reviews on this website regardless. we never do less than 3*+ / 4* and would say this is one of the worst hotels we have stayed at in the last 3 years.

On the up side, the pool area would be a lovely little place to relax and enjoy the sunshine during the Summer. If you do go here, visit "La Cala" beautiful beach, secluded resort, Number 12 bus from Av. Meditteraneo. - Enjoy!
