“Nice hotel, good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Hotel spotlessly clean and in good location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfy, but bathrooms a little on the small side (all have a bath with shower over). Food fresh, hot and varied and champagne breakfasts! All rooms have a pool view. Good location for beach and old town (5 min walk). Close to shops and bars. Would return to Benilux Park Hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have a pool view

July 2012 - read lots of reviews about the Benilux Hotel, some and good and some bad. Well I have just got back and the hotel was really nice, right in he heart of the old town. The major downsides to the hotel was the very limited food menu, most days struggled to make a full meal with what was on offer, really lovely waitress though called Sonia, she was so pleasant. The other downside was the daily queue of other nationalities!!! waiting to get the best sun beds. The hotel didnt open the pool area until 9am but if you are not queued up by 8.30 there is no chance of a decent bed. Pool area really nice, reasonable drink prices in hotel.
As for location, you are literally 5mins from the beach and 10-15mins from he main strip in the new town, be sure to check out a couple of the British bars, Sherrys and Keyhole, both very friendly and very reasonable prices. If you have little ones, watch out for the lady dancers on the tables!!!. Last comment, very little for children to do but make sure you check out Benidorn Island by boat trip, you can go underwater, amazing views,

Room Tip: All rooms have pool views so no problem

I was dreading coming here as I read so many negative reviews. Myself, my partner and 11 year old son have a budget for a foreign holiday and we stick to it. We paid £1200 to Thomson holidays for 11 nights full board from 10th Jul-21 July 2012 and for what we got was excellent value for money. The best two things are the food and location. Less than 5 min walk to beach (almost on doorstep). The food was varied, freshly cooked and always warm. I reckon it should be a 4* for food. Champagne chilling in cooling buckets for breakfast if you want 11%.
What let it down for me was the entertainment, well for my son. There was hardly anything to do during the day, but you are in Benidorm so there is plenty to do in the resort itself afterall. Another thing with the reviews that I thought was very childish, ageist and rude was the fact so many people were complaining about the 'older' guests. Yes, there were lots of guests older than us, how can that be a problem? We found them to be polite, courteous and willing to speak and have a laugh. Would you rather stay in a hotel full of lager louts? ps, it was the older guests that were drinking the champagne, so I dont think they were ready for the retirement home yet as some people would make you believe. I would certainly go back to this hotel without any hesitation whatsoever. If you like a clean hotel with great staff, great food, great location without paying over the odds then this is the hotel for you.

My Husband, 2 year old and I visited the Hotel for a week in the sun! The Hotel and all communal areas were very clean. Rooms were a little small for three beds and a cot but again it was very clean and well presented. We had two problems with the room that were resolved the same day. You have to put a deposit down for the air con and tv remote 5 euro each at reception. We hired a fridge which made the room even smaller but it was nice to have cold drinks in the room and we didn’t come to Spain to spend it in the room.
The food was ok, a little limited on variety but it was for most part very tasty with the meat dishes being very tender. An effort was made and they had a speciality each evening- ribs, ham, cheese selections and pate. We are not fussy eaters and neither is our two year old but can imagine you would be limited for choice if you are a fussy eater. Wine is cheap in the restaurant 6 Euro a bottle!
The pool area was very good any our two year old loved it. It was kept very clean and both the baby and large pool were very warm. There is a nice park area and outdoor gym equipment. We had no problem with sun beds, more often than not there were at least 10 on the side stacked up ready for use- just don’t put them on the grass as you get told off!
The beautiful beach is a 5-10min walk down a small hill. The front has just been done up and makes a lovely walk in the evening. It is in the old town which has just a few bars and cafes maybe for a livelier hotel you need to stay in the new town.
The evening entertainment is ok with professional acts on most evenings- not bad for hotel entertainers; our daughter particularly liked the parrot show. Only complaint was that the kids mini disco did not start till 9pm which was a little late, but the majority of the children were a little older than our daughter. After the mini disco and before the evening act there was usually music where people got up and did lots of line dancing and ballroom and latin which was nice to see.
All staff were very pleasant and welcoming. It is an international hotel and we found that everybody was more than friendly; the Spanish people staying in the hotel were particularly welcoming to us and our little girl. There are a mix of ages in the hotel but we certainly did not feel that children were unwelcome.
All in all a very good holiday in a nice 3* Hotel.

Hotel spotlessly clean.
Located 5 minutes from the Poniente Beach and about a 10 minute walk to the old town. Check in was quick and carried out by a pleasant receptionist. Paid 5 euro deposit for air con remote and 20 euro for a room safe plus 5 euro key deposit. If you want the remote for the tv that will cost you 10 euro deposit. I think a fridge can be hired for 3 euro a day.
We found all staff we came across to be very friendly, especially the restaurant staff. We never experienced any rudeness from any other guests and had some interesting conversations in the lift with other nationalities even though most of the time we couldn't understand what we talking about.
The food started off ok but after a few days we were only eating breakfast there and eating out in the evening and spending most days on the beach so used a cafe near the beach for lunch.
Can't comment on the evening entertainment as we went out every night, either to the bars of the old town or catching the number 2 bus outside up to the Rincon and all the british bars ( no need for a 40 minute walk) The only time we were back early was on our last night, so finished off in the bar just as the entertainment was finishing at around midnight. As soon as it finished there was a mass exodus heading for their rooms. If you are up on your balcony for 9am have a look at the sunbed dash as soon as the pool area is opened, quite a spectacle some mornings and they start queuing from about 8-30. There is also free wifi available in the bar area, ask at reception for the code.
Meal times are 8am to 10am for breakfast but it is opened earlier if you just want a continental b/f.
Lunch 1pm to 3pm and dinner from 7-30 til 9-30
If location is important then do a little research on T/A or google earth before booking. You are in a local Spanish area and this hotel caters mainly for Spanish guests, so if thats a problem don't book here.
As has been said before the rooms are quite small and also the bathroom and there could probably do with a bit more storage space. All rooms are non smoking but ash trays are provided on the balcony.
Would we stay here again? probably not, because having been to Beni many times, always staying at the Rincon end, we chose this hotel just to experience staying over that side of benidorm so on our next visit we will probably return to the other side of Beni. BTW a taxi back from the Rincon area after midnight costs around 9 euro.

I have just come back from a break in Benidorm and we stayed at the Benilux, with two other girls (ages 20 and 23). On first arrival we thought "maybe this isnt us" the hotel looked a bit like a prison from the outside, however i was pleasantly suprised when we got inside, the entrance was lovely, the staff on reception were lovely. The room was very small for three people and we thought we may have a fridge to keep water etc but were then told by one of the british guests (who was very patronising) that "no you dont get fridges in hotels". The maid was lovely and she came to our room every day. We had to pay 5 euros for the air conditioning but you got this back when you left. The air con was either freezing cold or boiling hot. When we first had the food at lunchtime on arrival we thought the food was ok, but as time went on we hated it. It was always slop, too salty, and the deserts were too sweet. The soup was always nice as were the bread rolls. All us girls had very dodgy stomachs throughout the holiday and even when we got back home as a result of the poor quality of food. The guests in the hotel were mainly spanish or french and were very rude and would have no trouble with leaning across your table to fetch something from a relative whilst you were sat there. On our first night we decided to have a look around and go to a few bars etc. we walked for 40 minutes and found a few bars. On our second day we had our welcome meeting which the rep was 15 minutes late for. She told us what excursions we could do and we ended up booking Benidorm Palace which was a fantastic night so i highly recommend this. There were also guests who were complaining about the location of this hotel as there was nothing around it. They were also mis-sold the holiday and were told everything was local by the person at the travel agent. The rep said she would take this up at head office. We never saw our rep again until the last day at reception when she completely ignored us. We were asked by another friendly rep at Benidorm Palace if our rep took us out, he said that the reps always take their guests out. Our rep obviously didnt get the memo. Our rep however did tell us where the new town was, where to catch a bus from, which we did every day as there was nothing around us. Each morning the sun beds had towels on, even though there was sign telling people not to do this. We didnt mind though, there was a nice grassy patch at the hotel which had shady and sun spots which we sat on to sunbathe.

I would advise against staying here unless you want to be surrounded by rude guests, rubbish food and nothing to do. If you are quite happy just to sit at your hotel and eat the rubbish food and not venture out this is perfect for you.

near the beautiful poinente beach and old town and harbour. we loved the old town, lots shops, pancakes, brilliant views from what they call the balcony of europe above the two beaches levante and poinente. the hotel was so clean and even the entertainment aimed at the elderly spanish people it was tolerable as there are so many lovely walks along the promenade and bars in the vibrant old town there was always things to do and see. food we thought was very good and pool adequate, baby pool nice and there is an outside gym, brill, would recommend for people with slightly older children though that dont mind walking into toen every night, 5-10 min walk.all in all excellant holiday, we will be back to benidorm but prefer benidorm plaza hotel up the road, benilux great for the money though and rooms nice.
