“great if your 70 and spanish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

I was booked into this hotel by Thomas cook who recommended it, I was told I would have a balcony ( I didn’t ),but you do get one if your Spanish !,I was on the 6th floor in what I can only describe as a bunker, the bed and bolster pillow were rock hard, and the view out of the tiny window was 6ft of air conditioning ducting and straight into someone else’s room, when I asked to be moved I was told "sorry full" ,if you put 3 fish in the pool it would make a good pond, there are no sun loungers round the pool ,only hard plastic chairs, the clientele at the hotel are 90% Spanish and over 70.

The food was fine as I eat anything, but I only had the breakfast. The good points are, the hotel is spotless and your room is cleaned every day, the air conditioning is noisy but works well, I was woken every morning at 7am by next doors coming on.
It’s close to the beach and the old town but a real trek to the English side, this hotel is for the Spanish older crowd who enjoy an evening of ballroom dancing to Juan who was playing with his organ every night.

it would be ok if you don’t pay much for it but at 400 pounds for a week, I expect better, I had never been to benidorm before, and would never go again, the old town is lovely with the tapas bars, but the levante side is full of beer swilling English lager louts on stag nights, who think frank from shameless is a role model!!.(Sorry Spain we are not all like that) plus I had my pockets picked on the second night by someone in one of the bars on the levante side, so be careful.

Room Tip: ask for one with a balcony

I could not believe that for a 2* hotel, the beds and towels were changed every day during our stay.
The staff are efficient although don't speak much.

This hotel seems to cater for the Spanish tourist, therefore it is great value for money. We only missed breakfast on one occasion, however it is what you would expect for 2*, if you want more go up a few notches * wise. The breakfast consisted of Cheese. Ham, Continental meats, Eggs (different each day, boiled, fried etc). plenty of juices, tea, coffee, and the usual breads ,cakes and pastries. it put us on for the day.
The beach is a few minutes walk from the hotel, and the old town is lovely.
Excellent hotel and location.

Stayed here for 3 nights great location, lovely room clean and tidy, had a cockroach in our room one night but my husband soon saw it off! Visited the buffet once not very good catered for spanish guests, pool is in shaded corner and is the smallest pool i've ever seen in a hotel, this didnt bother us as we went to the beach everyday, also no sun loungers at all! This hotel makes a great base but the facilites are not too good! I would use this hotel again as I said it is a great base.

Stayed here last summer, only just thought to write a review now we're looking to book this year's hol. Would definitely recommend camposol for a hotel in benidorm. Ideal location for both beaches and the old town, the little walk either way is pleasant and not too far. Friendly staff, rooms are pretty basic but who wants to stay in the room all holiday? We stayed half board and breakfast was nice, tea was pretty standard buffet food but all very nice and much better than other all inclusives I've experienced. It's not a 5* hotel so don't expect sheer luxury but for a reliable hotel which provides all the necessary things you can't go wrong. Only downside was the pool doesn't get a lot of sun, however the beach is only 2 mins away so just swim in the sea or sunbathe down there if you want to. Great holiday here.

I just returned from a 5 day trip to Benidorm, it was a last minute decision and as it was an extra trip this year so it needed to be cheap, so I booked with the break with "Onthebeach", the hotel was described as 2*, this is an accurate rating. I paid £66.00 for 5 nights FB single person !! Can you believe this price! I was not expecting much , however, I was quite surprised , the hotel is basic , the room I had was small but it did have a double bed, a/c and private bathroom, fresh towels daily , it was extremely clean in all areas , the food was basic but I managed to eat something everyday, it is located 5 mins walk from the dove park or Mal Pas beach and the shopping area. All in all it was amazing value for money , I would return to this hotel but only if I got a similar deal.

this hotel as got a ant and cockroach problem, the room we got had broken sockets, bare wires, broken tiles on the floor and walls and on the balcony the roof lentels were falling down around us and the balcony safety rail which went around the balcony had broken brackets which made it very unsafe and it is not safe to lean on.
when i asked to be moved to another room, i was told there was none available but 2 hours later 15 spanish guest arrived and where all given rooms and when i asked what was going on? i was told to speak to my travel agent if i didn't like it.

Room Tip: find some where else to stay, i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone

Good 5 nights away enjoyed the old town easy access To everything like a nite out but not every nite with the English on the strip. The old town is lovely nice local bars and ex pats. Hotel ok for short break with friend very cheap flights with Ryanair they do stick to the rules they will get on on the way back one hand baggage only and it must fit in there baggage sizer!!! No hairdryer at all we were told in hotel but we managed lots of £1 shops so no need to worry about toiletries and cheap towel £4 alot less that putting your bag in the hold on Ryanair which was £25 each way. Rooms basic food ok basic but edible, hotel very clean bedding and towels changed daily.
