“Vistamar Apartments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2008

Stayed at the Vistamar apartment 5th to 12th July 2008, it is very dated but serve's it's purpose. Apartment in general very spacious and clean as was the balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive at the Flamingo Benidorm hotel which worked out well, pool area at Flamingo Benidorm was far too busy and noisy and we were happy to return to the Vistamar pool (the only downfall was having to pay 1.50 a day for the sunbeds). The food at Flamingo Benidorm was very nice and something to suit everyone. It's a 10 to 15 min walk to the bars & beach etc, only 5 mins from the open market which is on a Sunday and Wednesday. WATCH OUT FOR THE CON-MEN NEAR THE BEACH DOING THE TRICKS, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

just got back from our worst week in benidorm ever.. upon arrival at the vistamar was disappointed but even worse when i got to the room.. the door had obviously been broken open at various times showing bad wear and tear.. unable to use safe as it had only one hinge on door.. balcony door didnt close.. loose wall sockets.. fridge door didnt close.. to make matters worse slipped and fractured my knee in reception on wet floor and had to get myself to hospital as they wouldnt get me an ambulance.. on returning from hospital floor was still wet.. on hiring a wheel chair at my own expense i found it difficlt to manouvre myself around the hotel and into my room.. having been to many hotels and apartments in benidorm and elsewere i found it extremely bad and disappointing and definately not worth its 2 stars.. and will definately never return to the vistamar.. we only went to the vistamar as a last resort booking.. big mistake..

We booked the Vista Mar for three nights all inclusive for my hen weekend.

For a hen weekend it served its purpose well - we only needed it to sleep in but if i was staying there any longer I would be bitterly disappointed.

The lifts hardly ever worked and we had to lug our cases to the 13th floor.
The rooms were shabby and in bad condition but clean and tidy.
The balcony was cracked making me nervous to go near it.
The shower was cold after the use of one person.
Bed sheets threadbare and very uncomfortable mattresses.
Room was for three people but not enough storage space for three of us only staying three nights.
Various lights didn't work.
The all inclusive had to be used in the Famingo hotel up the road and was no applicable in the hotel bar.
We were asked for a £20 deposit per room upon arrival - nobody told us about this before!

The only positives were the balconies were huge and the kitchen had its own toaster and kettle, although we didn't use these to see if they worked! The walk from the beach and main strip of bars was not far at all.

It is a two-star hotel and you can tell.

However, the pool and food in the Flamingo hotel that we used for our all inclusive was the best food I have had in a hotel abroad! I recommend you stay there instead.

  • Liked — The food in the other hotel!
  • Disliked — The lifts not working.

Stayed here 26th may for 1 week. We stayed all inclusive and had our food and drinks at the flamingo hotel. U couldn't fault the flamingo at all. Our room was ok apart from only having our towels changed once and never had our bed sheets changed at all. We was all inclusive but had to pay for our drinks at the vistamar so if we wanted a drink we had to go to the flamingo or pay for them. There was a disco and karaoke for entertainment but wasn't very good and the room was very small. There was a lot of noise in the hotel arguing and fighting. As you looked out from our balcony there was a field and was two people living in there which wasn't a pretty site. There was people selling drugs outside the hotel and two men getting intimate. Hardly had any sleep all week. Have been to benidorm many times and had a great holiday everytime, i won't let the vistamar put me off but would not consider staying there again.

I was fairly apprehensive about staying at the Vistamar due to the recent reviews, however I can honestly say i swas very impressed.
The block itself isnt ultra modern, but it wasnt dated either. there were 2 lifts which worked fine, and 24 hour reception (could improve on the hospitality side of things though)
I went in a group of 16 with 4 to an apartment, and I was expecting it to be cramped to say the least! I cannot stress enough about the sizes of the apartments, they were Huge! We had 2 bedrooms, (one with twin the other with bunks plus double sofa bed) plus kitchen, bathroom and the biggest balcony I have ever seen! We were lucky enough to be on a corner, but even the normal balconie were much bigger than average.
The pool is shared with the larger (more grander) hotel just up the road - literally 2minutes, which some people reviewing seem to have disliked, but I really dont see the problem. Our all inclusive tags allowed us pretty much all drinks, the food was Ok, what you expect in Benidorm (having been several times to different hotels). There was a roast dinner on the sunday which was good too. Its a bit of a trek to get into the livlier parts, probably a 20 minute walk, not bad, but not good in heels! Didnt go to the beach this time round but walked there before going home and it again took 15/20 minutes on a straight road.

All in all i wouldn have no problems returning to the vistamar, would probably request a corner apartment again though!

Just returned from a long weekend/stag do in Benidorm where we stayed at the Vistamar .There were 17 of us ranging from 22-48 years. To be honest of what i saw of the hotel and rooms it was clean and tidy but a little on the old side. Reception staff were friendly and the location is 5-10 minutes from the main nightlife square.
I would only take my family there if i was on a very tight budget so if your looking for somewhere cheap and just to sleep then i think the Vistamar fits the bill.
