right,where to start.
check in was a bit of a shambles.the coach driver did not know how to get to the hotel as the so called cardiac hill has a couple of tight turns on the approach to it so we got dumped at the 2nd floor reception and had to find our way to the main reception.when we got there we were greated by a leaking roof and the smell of sewage.
arrived at 11 30 but told room not ready till 2 at the earliest so we had to mill about for a while till we got in.room was ok,clean and such like (1003 on the 10 th floor).beds are typical of hotels abroard, two pushed together that fall apart far too easily.
rooms on the whole are ok but the walls are paper thin and you can hear the slightest noise from 3 rooms away(it really is that bad)but if like us you have the most inconsiderate family ever in the room next to you then you can imagine how much sleep we had.
food was ok,surprisingly,as was the large choice of drinks on the all inclusive deal.the staff clear the tables very quickly and are always quick with a smile for all the guests.the smokers area was located poorly as you pretty much had to walk through it to get to the bar or out of the main enterance.
we booked this hotel more for the fact that the pools looked good, dont be fooled by the pictures.they are cold, small and there is just about no way you could swim in them.
lots of lifts in the hotel but the wait for them was stupid, sometimes it seemed like there was only one working.
benidorm itself is lovely and we would go back for sure, just not to this hotel.cardiac hill is not as bad as everyone makes out but i guess less mobile people may find it a problem.
also when you read all the reviews on this website, bear in mind that in the welcome pack to the hotel they offer a free holiday to people who put reviews on here and they are not likely to give a free holiday to someone who says things were far from great(thats me out then).so just take all the reviews with that in mind.
we had a teenager with us who had nothing to do in the hotel so we were out most of the time.
this place is more suited to a long weekend with your mates than a family holiday,i would go for a weekend with the lads but not as a family, there was at least 5 large hen parties while we were there.
on the whole, got what we paid for but next time in benidorm will be at another hotel.
