“Terralta Apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Have just returned on the 20th August from our 2nd trip to these apartments. I would definitely return again next year if the prices do not rise too high due to the impending refurbishments.
The room is cleaned and the bedding is changed every other day. The maids are friendly and do a thorough job.
The bar staff are friendly and helpful. I mislaid my purse which they found it for me. They treated me to a round of drinks due to my distress at the loss. Thank you very much!!
The shop has reasonable priced British and Spanish goods. Jane who runs the shop, advises all newcomers on places to go for a good night out.
I was also there during the "poo in the pool incident" and can honestly say that the incident was dealt with promptly and efficiently by all staff involved.
The most regular lifeguard is extremely keen, trying to ensure all children and adult swimmers are safe and that the pool is kept to a high standard. He takes his job very seriously and is excellent at it. Well done!!
The only complaint I have is that ball games are allowed and inflatables are not. I found the constant dodging of balls to be a nuisance. Surely inflatables are much safer that being hit by a ball.
An excellent place to stay and meet friendly people with families that are of all ages.

Room Tip: Rooms in block 3, although further to walk to are not over facing the bar and pool area.

Back from 3rd year on trot in Terralta.Apartments are great, staff are so friendly&helpful, pool is prob one of the best pools in Benidorm. These apartments are not high rise so going back&forth to apartment only takes a couple of minutes.Nice food in bar and there is also 3 happy hours a day(happy days)but best thing at Terralta is Freddy the entertainer. If you have kids they will love Freddy and i have older kids who love Freddy too always a fun night with Freddy.Dont let the steep hill put you off, theres a bus service and taxi's are cheap also but the hill lets you walk off the hangover lol.Overall these apartments are great value for money away from the madness of the New Town.We are booking again for next year.We love you Freddy&the Terralta staff

I always look at Tripadvisor before I book a holiday, but I have never felt compelled to write a report before. I will admit that this is probably through laziness and is a little selfish, but normally once my holiday is over, I am too busy looking for the next holiday to worry about the one just gone.

This time I feel different. Tripadvisor has never let me down before, and it certainly didn't this time, so I feel I should let other people know about our time there. We thought the Terralta was brilliant.

We went as a family of eight. Me, my wife, our four children and my Mom and Dad.

We will definitely go back to these apartments again.

I understand some of the criticisms that people have written about but they certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment.

The hill is quite steep and long, but taxis are quite reasonably priced, and if you take your time, I don't think the hill is so terrible.

The lifeguard is quite fierce and strict, however he didn't stop walking around the pool all day long, and it was very reassuring to know that he was ever vigilante. While we obviously kept our eyes on our children while they were in the pool, it was very comforting to know that there was also a professional on hand all day.

The food was very nice and reasonably priced. It is all fairly basic English style food, but well presented and aimed at the target market of British holiday makers.

We were also there when there was an "accident" in the pool, but I thought the staff dealt with it extremely well with minimal disruption. The pool was closed off in the afternoon, and back open first thing the following morning.

The staff were all brilliant. From the bar and restaurant, through to the cleaners, maintenance, reception and entertainers. We couldn't fault any of them.

A very refreshing change to a lot of the places we have stayed before was the on-site mini-market. It was only fairly small, but it had all the essentials. More importantly, it was very reasonably priced. especially when you consider the nearest shop was down that hill.

We loved benidorm. It was nothing like the image some people try to make out. Yes there is the "Blackpool in the sun" in the new town (which is brilliant if you are after shows, tribute bands, comedians etc) but the old town is fantastic. As Spanish as Spanish could be. Tapas alley is a wonderful vibrant place that is well worth a visit, and the promenade explodes into life every evening.

We, as a family, can't recommend The Terralta highly enough. The staff, accommodation, cleanliness, safety, entertainment (for the kids) pool etc were brilliant.

We will be sure to return!!!

P.S. If you would like to visit a lovely Spanish bar nearby, try Tres Caballeros. The staff are very welcoming, and the beer and tapas are great. Go left out of the apartments, down the hill. After about 300m, you will come to a crossroads. On the opposite left hand corner, there is a gate and a block of apartments. Go through the gate and round behind the apartment block.

Great apartments, stayed for 2 weeks just got back. Very clean rooms, staff very friendly and helpful. Meals just basic nothing special. Fantastic size pool, plenty of space. About 10 to 15 min walk to old sown and 20 to 30 mins walk to the new town. Going ok, coming back can be a bit tiring especially spending the day at the beach or drinking. Only negative was the entertainment, very poor in our opinion. Very basic entertainment for the size of the place. Would have given it 5 stars if the entertainment was better.
Definitely would stay there again.

The main thing about this hotel was it is exactly as it says, 3 stars, clean and at the top of the hill!

If you drink beer and wine then the bar costs are very cheap (€3.20 for a Pint and a Glass of Red Wine), more so during the three happy hours although spirits are more comparable to back home.
Food is okay, but service in bar/restaurant is a it hit and miss!

The niggles were as follows:
1. Very pedantic lifeguard who nagged at customers every chance he could (although we had a different guy one day who was far more relaxed), guess he must not be getting much at home :-)
2. Lots of little additional extra costs e.g. wireless access in room, safe in room, surcharge to get pool view (15 euro's per day!), 8 Euro's to get a single foam "cushion" for sunbed (which are the hard plastic affairs so guaranteed numb bum without the cushion!) for two weeks
3. Hotel staff clear sunbeds away around you due to pool "closing" at 7pm, even when its only 6pm!!)
4. Poo in pool is very suspicious, as it happened to us but also to a friend who was there last October...think its a ruse for the hotel to give the Pool a clean during day rather than having to work later at night!!!), fact is they had the tape to corden it off setup in no time as if it was a routine procedure.
5. Towels do get changed twice a week, but when the first change was on day 5 and the second on day 7 it kind of defeats the purpose!
6. The metal walkways (covered with little bumps to stop you slipping on them) between the buildings ensure it sounds like a chainsaw been started when someone walks over them pulling a suitcase behind...bit of a pain when people leave early in the morning as it WILL wake you up.

I don't intend to make this review sound bad, they are only "niggles" when all is said and done, I would probably go back as overall for the price it is still good value and clean.

Room Tip: IF you want to no view but quiet don't get a pool view, however if you don't want to stare a...
