You get what you pay for. This is not a terrible hotel but it is not brilliant either.
My partner and I (aged 38 and 43) booked this all inclusive as a quick cheapy, having never been AI before and being on a tight budget. Heres my low down;
Location: on the edge of the old town and about 20 mins away from the English square if you cut through the old town. We liked the old town, lovely shops and the beach was also really nice, 2 mins walk away. We weren’t that bothered about visiting all the English pubs every night, but if that’s the reason why you are going to Benidorm, then you need to choose a hotel nearer the "new end". There were plenty of cheap bars and restaurants near by anyway if you felt like a change.
Food: distinctly average. Sometimes it was quite tasty & hot, sometimes bland and luke warm. Plenty of choice; salad, cold meat, veg, cooked meat, breads, toast, cereals, pasta, chips allot of pork products. Margarine not butter, not fresh fruit juice. Snacks NOT snacks, were left over’s from main meals. Nice coffee and lovely pastries and cakes
Bar: Drinks at bar all local drinks, tea and coffee in a paper cup, beer in plastic cup. Some regulars actually brought their own cups and glasses to this hotel! Only would serve 2 drinks per customer, not busy at the AI bar this time of year so no problems queuing
Pool: nice and clean, cold at this time of year and not much sun round pool as autumn. Indoor pool very small, not big enough to do a few lengths, I tried.
Staff: most the staff was friendly and considerate; the young man who booked you in for your meal was really nice. You could have a laugh with the bar staff.
Cleanliness: everywhere was very clean; this wasn’t an issue at all
Rooms: small but neat and tidy, clean bedding, towels changed daily, ample storage space. Getting a bit dated and tatty, but it was fine. TV only English channels were CNN and Sky sports and News. Learnt more about American politics in the Presidency election week than I could ever have done in a lifetime! VERY NOISY from clip clop of high heals in the hallway, to hearing your neighbour go pee to hearing people being amorous! We were in the "inner core” which was a square of balconies and you could here everything as the sound just bounced off the walls. Not much sleep to be had, during the day all you could hear was the maids moving furniture about, thankfully we took ear plugs having read previous reviews.
Entertainment (Ha!): poor. Spanish music every night, the same Spanish music every night. Ballroom dancing and line dancing to the same music every night. Very little entertainment usually for the last half hour before the AI ended ( AI bar was 10am - 11pm). The quality of this varied, parrots to dancers of some sort. By evening 5 we could not stand it any longer, we just went for a walk just to get away from it.
The elderley Spanish were a bot on the rude side, obviously never heard of queuing and have a habit of congrigating in doorways and entrances and not moving.
I would not recommend this hotel or visit it again.
